Myskinny
Friends, Getting my first fill tomorrow. I have done very well with a 21 lb weight loss but I lost 15 lbs the first 8 days. Probably because I drank diet coke since I was 14. Everyday. Sometimes as much as a 12 pack. So only 6 lbs the following 3 weeks. I am going to tell them to fill me up. Wish me luck!! nothereanymore
Good luck Lori - you're going to do great! Just as an FYI, as we're first learning some times the first fill is not the best - they don't want to get you too tight. Sometimes its not til our secound or third that we hit the sweet spot. You're doing great and I'm sure they'll get you right to were you're suppose to be! (But also you never know - some hit it right away) Let us know if you need anything and its pretty cool actually - getting your first fill! Take care! nursemom
Good Luck Lori! Tell them to BATTON DOWN THE HATCHES! (hope I spelled that right ) I understand how you feel about the diet coke. I drank WAY more than you each day. I almost had to go to rehab to quit. I had nausea, vomiting, etc....so good job on quitting. I feel better having quit than I have in years. You are already doing great. =D>

Water was fine and now having a protien shake. I also remember that it may take until 2nd fill to get that sweet spot. I am OK, and hopefully will have success with this. He seemed very surprised on how much he put in. I have 6CC in 10CC band. So as of today I feel I am officially a member of the band!! Thanks, Lori

So as of today I feel I am officially a member of the band!!Thanks, Lori Sweeite - you were a bandster from the moment you came out of surgery (smile!). Go slow and easy on this fill. Even though it's your first...treat it well and remember your portion control and stick with it. Drink at least 8 (8) oz of water every day. Do lots of walking, which for some, can curb your appetite, as it does for me. Make it a habit to cut your foods into dime-size so you won't PB or slime. Take the time to eat every morsel and chew real well. Like Lisa says, you may not hit your sweet spot just yet. For most, the first fill is like a 'primer', where you receive your fill and your stomach is tighter because of the band being filled. Well, both the stomach and band are totally upset at you and you may feel some restrictions or tightness. Ride it out by drink your water and have full liquids until the swelling goes down. This will give your body and band time to adjust the new tightness. When it's time for your next till, it will happen again with the same tightness and you will again learn to know what is good or bad to do and what to eat. Write down how you are progressing. Attain some small, reachable goals for yourself to keep the focus going and to move forward with your success. Good Luck Lori and welcome to Bandland! Jazzy!!
