navygirl
I got my last fill about 10 days ago and have been extremely tight. Still trying to get used to eating when it's this tight and have been messing up frequently. Now because i'm hotel bound I have to eat out and not much wants to stay down. But I managed to keep lunch down yesterday and today. I've been feeling light headed today. Could it be I'm not getting enough to eat?
JazzyJude
To me, that's a sign of not eating/drinking enough and how much proteins have you had for the day? I am concern that you may be too tight? You may need an unfill. I am not a medical advisor, but if I was in your situation, I would contact the nutritionist or your fill doc and ask questions and see what they say. After your fill, you shouldn't be too tight as not to eat a meal without any issues. Also, whenever I travel, I ALWAYS take a protein shake packet (I've a quart-size ziplock bag that has a measured out protein powder in a snack-size ziplock baggie; one 8 oz water bottle (mine is Costco's), and a shaker (I used a washed out drinkable yogurt bottle) to mix the protein shake. Also, if I am going for more than 3 or 4 days, I would take a liquid whey protein bullet (I get these at GNC and mix it with a flavored Crystal light drink). Hope this helps...good luck ~ Jazzy!! Clynn
You may have just irritated things. Try going on liquids for a couple of days and see if that calms things down. If at anytime you can't get liquids down then that's an emergent situation and you should get an unfill asap. If after a couple of days you're still having problems then it's time for an unfill. Get one sooner rather than later and you'll save yourself a lot of misery and possible damage to your band. Also, make sure you're getting enough liquids and protein. Lacking either of these can make you seriously ill and disoriented.
navygirl
Every time I get filled I find I have to learn to how to eat again. This time the problem is I'm away from home and it's hard to find a restaurant that cooks something somewhat decently that I can keep down. But, yes, I do think I have irritated things. How long on a liquid only diet and should I rely on protein shakes?
Clynn
If you're not feeling better after two or three days it's time for an unfill. As I said before (and I don't think I can stress this enough) if you can't get liquids down or if the light-headedness continues you need an unfill immediately. If a restaurant serves soup you may be able to ask for a bowl of broth, especially if you mention you recently had stomach surgery or are with a group of other hearty eaters. If you're uncomfortable talking about the surgery then telling people you're getting over the stomach flu should work equally well. After all, they don't want you getting sick in their restaurant.
