stormy
WOW, this is wild. I ate after being on liquid diet for 24 hours after my fill and what a experience. It is almost like I just had the surgery. I need to learn to eat all over again. I was obviously very loose. Now I chew chew chew and I had spagetti for lunch and did I get full fast. WOW. Now I just have to find things to munch on because my stomach does not feel good when it is empty. I am worried that I wont get everything I need as far as vitamins so I am going back to chewables. But you know what, I like this, I really chew chew and I think that once I have that down, I am going to enjoy my food instead of just swallowing it hole, like I was. I can't wait to lose my next 5 pounds. With the exersise I am doing, I think this just might work. Sparkpeople has some great food ideas. I hope it stays this way a while. ToddS
That is great news for you! Where are you getting your fills? My wife and I were banded 4/6/09 at the OCC and will probably go there for the first one. After that, it would be nice to stay local.
louisem
I'm right there with you. I didn't really have much restriction at all until I had my 3rd fill last week. What a difference it makes. I am with you about being concerned about getting enough vitamins and have been careful to take my multivitamin and a calcium supplement. After being stagnant for months the scale is moving again!!!! Good luck Louise

ToddS
Hi Todd! How are you guys doing? When are you planning on getting your first fills? I think it's cool you guys did it together! Thanks for asking. We are both doing great. There is still some occasional discomfort at the port but that is about it. 3 weeks of liquids was the hardest part, but it was mostly head hunger for me. Leanne had more problems with physical hunger than I did. After about 10 days on solids, we are both able to eat everything that we have tried and unfortunately have no apparent restriction. This is to be expected though without a fill. We both lost quite a bit of weight since surgery day. (14/18 pounds) and we both have gained a couple of pounds since starting on solids. That is to be expected too. We then lost a couple of pounds and have stayed steady for almost a week. It has been the best decision for us to have done this together. I cannot imagine how hard it would have been for us if one of us was eating normally during the liquids stage. Have a happy day and good luck on your journey. ToddS
I use dr Fitzpatrick, she is really good. Here is her site http://gastricbands.com/index.html Thanks Stormy. We may give her a try after we have our first fill done under Fluoro at OCC. We both really don't like the idea of a blind fill, but I have heard that many have had really good success and it would save us a flight to San Diego and/or the drive to Olympia or Salem. I am on the last leg of my 3 weeks of liquids. I am looking forward to being done. It's been difficult to cook for my family. I think that is the hardest part of the liquid phase. I try to leave and do other things when they eat.
