robbynnoel
(((((((((((((((((Hugs Everyone)))))))))))))))) Head hunger has already hit...yikes. I've only been at this for an hour. lol For me, it's the same tapes that play, over and over and over. A year ago, I weighed 212...then I piled on weight fast and hard. That's what brought me to the OCC. Part of me wants to take a nap and sleep it off but I since my husband is home with me today I don't want to do that. Normally I entertain myself by cooking...it's (I don't even have to eat or taste if I cook...it's just the act of doing something I guess) but it's far far far too early to start dinner. lol Far to early. Maybe I'll roast a chicken for my family tonight (grapeseed oil, lemon, garlic, kosher salt, pepper) that would take about 2 hours to prep and cook...not to mention a trip to the grocery store. I found the recipe online for the Olive Garden salad dressing and components...that has to chill 30 minutes (or longer) before serving. (Lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, banana peppers, olives, croutons - served with a creamy Italian dressing). I know that on my OCC paper work it says that 2 weeks before is two protein drinks and a lean cuisine so I could have a small amount of chicken and salad but I'm better off just sticking to the protein drinks. I think if I taste solid food I'll give myself permission to eat something off program. I'm addicted to food, so for me it will be easier to do 100% protein shakes and drinks for the next two weeks. Maybe I should take a hot shower (laugh to self...I just typed "hot salad" instead of "hot shower") and if I'm still dealing with head hunger take a walk. Just a question, does anyone eat 3 meals only no snacks and nothing in between unless it's a glass of water? I think that's the route I'll have to go because head hunger is absolutely my biggest problem.
bandmama
You just had surgery? If so OCC asks that you stay on liquids for 21 days. The first 4-7 is clear liquids only. It is not until day 15 that you add protein shakes. It is totally worth the wait. You paid too much money to risk damage to you band. I know the first 21 days is hard but hand in there.. nicolek
Hi I would eat my allowed green veg in between my shakes on pre-op. I had broccoli, snow peas ,cucumber, green pepper and mushrooms on hand at all times. You are allowed upto 3lbs of green veg. In the evenings I had to take a bath and read a book while my family ate or even go to bed early. Good Luck
bandmama
Oh sorry Robyn, I didn't completely read your stats. You just started your pre-opt diet....I thought you were on your post-opt. My bad!!!
robbynnoel
((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))) I made it though and my husband and kids ended up having deli sandwiches for dinner so I didn't have to cook either. (I love cooking though! ... lol) It's good to know about the veggie option in case I get in a head frump. I did get on the scale, just to know where I was at. I gained 12 lbs in the 2 months I waited for the surgery, BUT I'm glad I waited and I switched to the OCC. And all things considered, the 12 lb gain doesn't have me too bothered. I'm pretty confident I'll lose that pre op if I follow the pre op the way it's designed.
JazzyJude
Robbyn...Dr. Miranda suggested to use Metamucil for the hunger pangs during preop. AFTER surgery, I alternate between them and the Fiber Choice chewable tablets (the Weight Management ones). They REALLY help with the hunger pangs for me. I take one at 10am and 3pm...also it helps with the rotor rooter issues too! HA! You need to take them every day for it to work on you and you will notice the difference tremendously. Also, to prevent headaches, get some unflavored protein powder and mix it in your foods, such as soups, stews or chilis, meatloaf, tuna melt, etc. OR, mix it in your drinks, tea, coffee, cocoa, milk, etc. It has no taste and it's one way to get in your protein intake! Good Luck...Jazzy!!

I did purchase it and I take it twice a day, but I take it when I take my meds and I should change that to 10 am and 3 pm. I should take the calcuim chew then too for a little flavor. Thanks again for the reminder!

I just can't do those dinners ((((((((((((((((Shiney))))))))))))))) That is a smart idea. I found a pastrami yesterday that was 30 calories a slice and there were 5 slices in the package. It was very satisfying.
shiney42
Well I so blew it today... I had a bagel with cream cheese - then a Caesar Salad for dinner- Tho I eat less then Half the order(restaurant take out) it was NOT fat free dressing.. .Plus I Frigging ate a few Tootsie rolls and a few hard pretzels.... Sitting around watching TV all day with my leg up isn’t recommend when one is trying to shed a few pounds......... I was in the ER till 2:30am - I had scratched my foot, Not all that bad, it was a small scratch that I cleaned out with peroxide for 2 days and some first aid cream, but it slowly got worse. I figured I'd just go to the doctor in the morning(Saturday) But by 11pm I couldn't take the pain and the infection really traveled fast in the few hours - I started getting worried So I just drove myself to the ER.... I can't believe how bad my foot got/is! So when I call OCC and let them know about the meds they put me on I’ll go over a diet plan with Dr. Miranda ........ Cause I need to lose 8 pounds in 10 days!
