ValleyGirl
Well, I finally went down to Northwest Fill Management in Marysville to check my band under flouro and it is PERFECT! There is no explanation for the constant tenderness I feel around my port (it sometimes even radiates to the right side) but whatever it is, it is NOT an enlarged pouch or a slipped band or a flipped port. Phew!!! They watched my barium go down and said it was travelling at just the right speed too so I decided not to get an unfill, which I was considering because I do get stuck now and then (especially when I have my period). 99% of the time it is because I have eaten too fast, so I will have to SLOW down if I want to keep at this fill level. It would be easier to unfill so I could be lazy with my eating, but I'm going to try to be very mindful going forward and if I'm still getting stuck and having to force it back up (I just can't take that golf ball in my chest pain) in a week or two, I will unfill a little. But not before I try to eat slower, and chew better. These are very hard habbits for me to break! Anyway, I am relieved. Sabrina:)
determination
I am glad that you now have peace of mind. I understand though with what you are saying about your port. My port area hurts still when I lean to the left or reach for something to my left, having to bend down. I guess we are all going through a lot of the same things at different times. It sure helps when others post their issues so that we can be assured that we are not the only ones having fears. Way to go with your weight loss. robbynnoel
(((((((((((((((((((((((Sabrina)))))))))))))))))))))) This is wonderful news. I'm going to have to slow way way way down when I eat. I take hours preparing my meals and then eat in only a matter of moments. When I first started on this venture, I purchased a watch that was a stop watch. Each time I took a bite I set the timer and refused to let myself eat another bite for 60 seconds. I found out that I chew and swallow within 10 seconds. That is fast. I am not using it right now but I'll bring it back once I have my surgery and I begin back on solid foods.

tootsie_lou
Hey Sabrina! So glad all is well with your band. It gets worrisome when there is pain and you don't know what is up. I also had (and still do from time to time) trouble with eating way to fast. This was a real issue after my second fill. What I did was set an egg timer for fifteen minutes, and I would try to eat 1 bite/minute. Oh yeah, it went over big at the dinner table with the thing ticking away, but I really got the hang of chewing (and enjoying) the food, and s-l-o-w-i-n-g down. Just puttin' it out there. MyNewLife
Sabrina, Thanks for posting, I have been worried about you and know that you have been very concerned. I am so glad to hear that everything is ok. It is very hard to break old habits, eating and drinking slower is my BIGGEST thing that I have to work on and still need to work on. You are doing great! Mammaof2wins
Sabrina, I am so happy for you! I bet you are so relieved that you found out everything was fine. It was worth every penny to find out such good news I am sure. Good Luck and hope you don't need an unfill. Celia

Phew!!!Sabrina:) I had something similar to this in regards to radiating pain although my port site wasn't necessarily tender. For me it was a build up of scar tissue. It took a few months to figure out and then finally stopped a couple of weeks after we figured it out. I was told that scar tissue does this sometimes and also has the ability to decrease later and therefore provide relief. Maybe that is what you are experiencing. If so, I figured out that deep breaths were a no no so I learned to take shallow breaths when it was hurting. I am glad that you have peace of mind that it is not anything band threatening.
