AshleyMarie
I am sure this question has been asked many times but I am going to ask it again lol. I was wondering how long I should wait before getting my 2nd fill. I looked at 6 peoples profiles and each person waited about a month in between their first and second. Any suggestions? Great question. Matter of fact I asked the same question as a poll a little while ago. I think 6 people had taken the poll. Most if which had waited 8 weeks. I am having my first fill after 6 weeks. If you check out the fill section you will see the poll. I had asked because I had seen many patients on a different forum getting fills a month out. I thought wow! Turns out most have waited past the 4 weeks on this forum. Hope that helps! Angie

AshleyMarie
Oh crud! Sorry I should have read your post better! My bad. That's ok sweet pea 7 weeks was good for me. It helped with more weight loss and I actually had restriction!
arianna
I had my second fill exactly one month after the second fill. I think it depends on how you're doing with the fill. I didn't have much restriction with my first fill, so I went to my doctor, he put another 1.5 cc in there. ( my band holds 9cc so even then it wasn't enough). so I guess it depends...maybe anywhere between 4-7 weeks between fills. I just know my doctor won't do any sooner than at least 4 weeks. I'm now waiting for my 4th fill. hope this helps. Arianna
AshleyMarie
Thanks Arianna. I think I may go at 4 to 5 weeks. I just want this weight to come off lol. I am having a problem with alcohol though. I go out a lot and it is hard to say no. I need to tell myself how important this is to me and get it into my head. I can go all day without eating but show me a piece of cake or pie and that's it...i throw in the towel and binge. I am sure that's why I'm not losing as much weight as I should be. One day at a time...we just need to take it one day at a time. I think we do need to remind ourselves of why we got the band. we can do it. let me know how you feel after your 3rd fill. The OCC made me wait four weeks. But with the second fill I definitely got good restriction going from 2cc's to 2.8cc's in my 4cc band. I now have 3.0cc's after my third fill in Feb.--had amazing restriction for 3 months, now it's starting to loosen up a bit. Will probably need another in a month or so. SDGIRL
Hi Ashley, I waited 4 weeks in between the first and second. The first one didn't do much at all, the second one has really made me slow down or it comes back up. Still learning. Good luck.

JazzyJude
Unless OCC had changed their ruling, your first fill is between 6 ot 8 weeks and then your second must be 4 weeks out before you get another one. This gives your body and band a chance to get use to the tightness and adjust your eating habits. I got my 2nd 4 weeks later, then my 3rd, it was 3 months out. It all depends on your 'restriction' and how it does for you. You need to work with the band. Like they said, everyone is going to react differently. I use the motto a friend had suggested, "If you are using more willpower than bandpower, it's time for a fill!". That is what I am doing now...and it's working great. Don't be in too much of a rush to get those fills. Remember, it took you a long time to gain the weight and you are not going to lose the weight and maintain it overnight. You need to relearn the basic of eating healthier as well as getting your 'sweet spot'. A lot of this is 'mental'. Once you've mastered the mindset on how and what things tick, you've got it made. I personally want to have my own control over having the band control. Even though I have the band, I am not having it controling my life...as I need to live! I just become more determine and driven and believe I can do this with the help of the band. I am on full force and discipling myself to move forward and getting this weight lost DONE...in a pace I am comfortable to do it with. Rushing it will only get you frustrated and possibly have a failure and this is NOT what the band is all about. So, take it one step at a time and learn as you go and you will be just fine...Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing! Jazzy!!
