I've never taken Lexapro but my daughter was prescribed it when she was 17. She was prescribed many different things in a short period of time (for what reasons will result in a story that is far far far too long) but if I remember correctly, Lexapro was the first one.

After a day or two, my daughter decided she didn't need meds (long story) so she stopped taking them. Because she then still suffered from anxiety (longer story) we took her to the hospital and they gave a different med because they said she had a welt of some kind on her stomach and that is known to be a very very very rare side affect.

I wish I had more info but I do know what happened to her was highly unusual.

I used Lexapro for years. It worked for me and I only had 10mg. I now use the generic because I do not have insurance.
