Am I too tight - Phelgm issue

Recommended Posts

So I had a serious virus about one month ago and then afterwards I got a fill. I have not had alot of issues. I have had things stuck, and had to throw them back up. but this is not constant and I figure it is because I did not chew enough. But now this past 2 weeks I have had phelgm build up. Almost like I am getting a cold but I dont feel sick. I went to see my dr who asked me if I am too tight. He thinks I should consider getting some removed. Is there a way to tell if I am too tight, I wonder if I took some anti-acid stuff if that would make it go away and then I would know I am to tight. But what if this has nothing to do with acid, has anyone had phelm build up because of the band? I hate to have some removed. I am losing. I dont get stuff stuck all the time. It has happened maybe 4 times since I got a fill. Is that bad?

The Phelgm really is bothering me, mostly at night. I guess I should call her, maybe he is right. I just didnt feel like it was acidy so I figured it was ok, but I do notice that sometimes I have a sour stomach, like I need something in my stomach. Are these signals that I dont understand? I will give her a call but I wonder if anyone else has had this issue. I dont want her to take out much. What a disappointment, I really felt like I was doing well. Any advise would be appreciated.

I know that coughing during the night can be a sign of being too tight, but not sure about your symptoms. I did have a slight unfill in December because it hurt to even swallow milk or breath. He took out .1 cc, or what he called a drop and I was a happy little bandster after having just that tiny tiny amount removed. I then followed it up with chicken nuggets for lunch - those were the best chicken nuggets ever.

Are you losing at an abnormally fast rate? I had had a fill on Tuesday in the late afternoon and at the time of the slight unfill on Friday morning, I had lost 4 pounds, which was a bit too much for 3 days.

I would think excessive acid would cause heartburn as opposed to a build up of phelgm. Have you analyzed what it was you were eating, what you were doing, the size of your bites and how well you were chewing when the food got stuck? Maybe you should try liquids for a few days and then make a determination as to whether or not you need a slight unfill.

That is exactly what she asked me. She decided that I should do liquid diet for 24 hours. Mushy for 24 hours and then if it continues I have to have a slight unfill. I am glad she did not jump at that. I had chicken broth at lunch and hardly had any phlegm. I am not losing fast, darn. I have only lost about 6 pounds in the last 30 days. I wish it was more. Tonight I will have a slim fast and hope that the milk does not cause me a problem. I may have to give up milk, that will freak me out. But maybe that is an issue for me. We will see if it goes away.

Hi Stormy

I have the mucus problem aswell. I am going tomorrow for a slight unfill. AGAIN!

I can basically only eat in the evening as everything gets stuck.I am having problems with protein intake because of the milk

being too thick.I've been drinking them off a spoon.

Good luck
