Can I Get A Fill If I've Gained Weight?

Recommended Posts

I am so glad I found this site.

Last February 08, I had the lap band surgery performed. I had built myself up to it. Worked out ahead of time, lost weight, lost about 20 lbs. and then fell and reinjured an ankle that I had rebuilt. Not once - but twice.

Now, almost a year and a half later, I have gained back all that I lost and another 30lbs. I am too embarassed to go back into my doctor because he was so sure I was going to be a success story.

So, I guess my question is this: since I've gained probably 30+ pounds since my surgery, can they still do a fill? Do I need to lose this weight before I call and get a fill?

Like I said, I'm so happy to find this site. I've got to get this under control. My ankle reconstruction made working out harder to accomplish - I've got to get some of this weight off before I can try jogging again.

Thanks.

You are a success story, you still have the band and can partner up with it again to get the weight off. As long as you are still living and breathing you will be a success story, the fruits of your success are just taking a little longer to be noticed.
