canadamama
I am so scared that I will not loose the 5% of weight that is required to loose before my surgery. I have been keeping busy, sticking to it completely and working out....but it just seems like alot to loose in one week....anything you can say to make me feel better would be greatly appreciated. Babe
canadamama, i completely understand your concern. we've all been there. the advice i can give you is to follow Dr. Miranda's guidelines, be patient with yourself, and drink lots of water. you might not lose the full 5% or you might end up losing the bulk of it the last couple days of pre-op and be pleasantly surprised when Dr. M weighs you (like i was). the whole point of the pre-op is to shrink you liver so that it will be easier for Dr. Ortiz to see and place your band. yes, it also serve as some kind of preparation for your new bandster lifestyle, but ultimately it's about the liver. Try not to worry too much, and just take it one meal at a time. Good Luck!
louisem
I didn't loos 5%, and the weight I did loose was made up by water retention due to TOM right before my surgery. The weightloss is to shrink your liver so the more you lose the better but it is highly unlikely that they won't go through with your surgery, especially if you are at a lower BMI. Just do your absolute best and things will work out. Louise
