well, its been 7 months since my surger and I've hit my first major milestone. I now weight less than 200lbs! AND I"m now, officially no longer obese!! Yea! My BMI now falls in the OVERWEIGHT category.

Funny thing happened. Last October 20th we had our fall meeting. Well, the chairs in this place are these very light aluminum (sp) chairs with curved arms. I went to stand up and the chair came with me :(.. That day is when I decided to have my surgery. Fast forward 7 months and we have our spring meeting. That very morning went under 200. And guess what? My hips didn't EVEN TOUCH the sides of the chair. Coincidences? I don't think so!!!!! It was a sign that this has all been worth it.

I am losing VERY VERY VERY SLOWLY. Probably 1-2 lbs per month since the initial 20lbs right after surgery. This frustrates me, but I guess I just need to accept it because as much as I hate to admit it I am not exercising and really I just eat whatever I want, only in small portions. I know I might get some negative feedback on this, but at least I'm being honest. I had to stop obsessing about food and dieting and now with this way of life I don't have to focus on it.

So, I am very happy! I"m moving this weekend which will eliminate my 3 hrs commute each day in the car and I plan to add some regular excercise. I think this will speed things up!!!!!!!!!

CindyLou congrats on hitting such a major goal!

We all have to do it “our” way, what works best for us – at a certain time and place in our lives.

We’re all going to go down different paths – what works for one person may not work for another. But I believe it’s not the path we take, or how fast we get there – it’s just that we get there…. Period.

All the best, you’re doing awesome, onederland is wonderful! (I hope you’re able to move closer like you plan – to have all those extra hours in your day would be so great for you)!

You won't be getting any flack from me. WW didn't work for me because I would get to stinkin' tired of measuring, counting points, and everything else that goes along with keeping track of every bite that went in my mouth. I work the band, but I also eat and refuse to deny myself things in moderation. The difference is how much of it I have. While shopping at the mall yesterday I didn't want to have a lot of food leftover, so I had two places to choose from, a place that sold pizza by the slice or Sonic. Even though I have been craving a piece of pizza for about 3 weeks now, they would not do a debit card sale for less than $5, so they were out because one piece would have been a stretch and two pieces was out of the question. I went to Sonic and ordered a corn dog and onion rings. I picked about half of the corn stuff off of the corn dog and ate the rest of it. I then had about 2 onion rings and I was full, so I stopped and still ended up with more onion ring leftovers than I wanted to. I finished the onion rings at dinner last night. Now granted, this isn't how I always eat, but if I want something I will eat it. To my knowledge it has worked for me as I lost 70 lbs. in 14 months and have started losing again now that I have returned to working out after getting the approval from my plastic surgeon.

Congratulations on reaching your milestone of just being overweight. Before long, especially if you add in the exercise you have forgotten all about hitting the 190's as the 180's will be in sight. Congrats!

Same here you will not get any negative feedback from me! You are doing great and just think about what weight you would be at now if you didn't have this done. I also agree that I don't like the idea of being on a diet and so I eat what I want but in moderation and try to make good choices most of the time. But you betcha I had three or four bites of chocolate ice cream today and am going to make an adult beverage later! I didn't work out until about 5 or 6 months in and now i'm addicted to Zumba so when it's time and you feel like working out you will don't worry.

Keep up the great work!

The stick to the hiney trick - I know a few chairs like that!!

Congratulations - this is a HUGE milestone and I'm doing a happy dance for you. When I finally reach that goal, you're going to hear many a bell and whistle coming from this area of the woods.

Thanks for sharing too - always helps motivate the rest of us.

I just wanted to say Congrats! The 199 mark is so huge for us and it is a wonderful feeling to see that I am sure. As far as your food, you are being very honest with yourself and that is all that matters. We are all human! Keep up the good work!
