OMG Another Unfill!!

Recommended Posts

As some of you are aware I've had multiple unfills after my band has tightened almost always due to stress. Last week I could eat quite a bit and was planning a fill after the 4th as I am going on vacay. Well come Father's Day, out of nowhere I get super carsick and threw up really badly. Since then I have been very tight. Tonight I am eating a little but for the most part I've been unable to eat solids all week. Plus side I've lost 5 lbs this week-- but at a price that I am not comfortable with! So I am off to my local Fill Center Tues a.m. for an unfill AGAIN!!! I am still hoping it'll calm down. If I wasn't going on vacation 1st-6th I wouldn't do it but I'll be with a huge crowd of friends and fam and no one knows about my band. I am at the point where I couldn't hide it. So I am sure after that I'll need a fill. I am so close to goal this is so frustrating!! But I am at the point where I need to be able to eat fruits and veggies and as of now it's impossible. I am always amazed by those of you whose bands tighten and then relax on their own. I've never had that happen. This will be the 3rd time it's tightened on me and the past 2 it didn't relax but I am still hoping......

I feel for you. Every time I make an appointment for a fill I suddenly get too tight and have to postpone it. I can't seem to find a happy medium- too loose or too tight constantly. I'm still more than 30 pounds from goal, though. I wish I was as close as you are. It must feel SO good! You'll get there...and I hope I won't be too far behind. Have agreat vacation.

I really had to get into breathing and learning how to relax and let go. It’s so amazing that now with the band we can actually see and feel how badly stress affects us. It’s immediate!

One good thing, its making us listen to our stress and work to improve how we handle it. Bad thing – it’s a hard thing to do. I meditate every morning and chant to relax and breathe in and out deeply to cleanse and get ride of the toxins. I also just let some things go or I kiss it off. It’s not worth what it was doing to my body and spirit.

Take care and sorry about this!

Hi K

At least you may only have to have a little out. I had to be completely unfilled again.

I asked Dr So why the difference in cc that I can hold now, and he said its because my anatomy has

changed. 90lbs makes a difference inside aswell as out.

Fingers crossed for a little unfill so that you can enjoy your holiday.

I thought the band would get looser as we lost weight... which is why when I got a too-tight fill, I just waited it out. I've been "waiting it out" since October and now I'm almost at goal and still haven't loosened up AT ALL. I really needed an unfill, but didn't want to spend $150 just to have to spend another $150 to be back where I started. Now I see that it was a mistake and I should have gotten it... I'm sure I could have been at goal a long time ago if I would have been able to eat the right things - they just wouldn't stay down though.

Very interesting subject as I have a 1.8cc in my 4cc band. My last fill was in March and I have good restriction...but I am plateauing and maybe this is my sign to get an unfill? I've lost 87 pounds and I am wavering between 200 to 202 lbs, up and down. It is frustrating. I was going to wait it out until after August 1, which my health insurance kicks in the next year's benefits. I can eat most days, but then some days, I get the 'stuck' feeling. So, I am going back to basic and doing liquids, then creamed soups, then softer foods and then progress to solid foods...almost like doint the 5-day pouch test. I'll do all these steps in one week and see how it goes.

These bands of ours are truly amazing...and how it reacts to different people. Like Lisa, I too give myself positive pep talks, so I wouldn't stress out, and do the breathing regimen...but some days, my stress level really soars.

Karen, keep us posted please so we know how you are. Keep your chin up hun...glad to see you are really taken care of yourself and doing what needs to be done now. Jazzy!!
