Red
Do any of you bandsters have suggestions to reduce the scars on your belly? Thanks! I heard that Vitamin E oil works well so I emailed OCC to ask when I could begin applying it. Dr. Sol said I should wait 3 weeks. So I'm going to give that a try! walkswithtequila
I spoke with Dr. MArtinez and he recommened a product Contractubex. I bought it on ebay for about $
bigbear
Find someone who sells Melaleuca products. They have an ointment called Melagel. It will help the incisions to heal and if you keep using it will help reduce scarring.
JessicaATL
Are the scars quite noticeable? I thought that they were very small incisions...after having twins, I am guess that the scars may not compete with my lovely stretchmarks
Smiley
My plastic surgeon suggested ScarGuard. I bought it at his office so I'm not sure if it is available at a pharmacy or not. He said it is better than vitamin E oil, but having already bought 2 bottles of vitamin E at the time of his suggestion I use the oil on my TT scar and the ScarGuard on my arms as they are much more visible than my tummy. nothereanymore
You can buy Scarguard online http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp...amp;catid=10744 I've been using bio oil, http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp...amp;catid=10403 but it really just softens the appearance for me. Someone I know really believes in Dr Blaine’s, http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp...amp;catid=10744 I bought it, but its looks like a pain so I haven't even used it yet. Need to crack open the box and try it out. Cortisone shots are what really work for me, and I get those from my PS. It takes at least three sessions (for me), and as long as your area isn't large, it’s doable. I've been doing this for my belly button after my tummy tuck and you can really tell the difference with that scar compared to others that haven’t had the shots. Smiley
Yikes - ScarGuard is expensive on-line. I dug out my receipt and paid $35 for it at my plastic surgeons office - which I thought was expensive at the time. You might want to call some local plastic surgeons first to see if they sell it and if so whether or not you can buy it from them without being a patient.
