ValleyGirl
I never thought I'd see the day that I only had 20 pounds to lose! I seem to have gotten over the sporatic super tight days and haven't pb'd in weeks. I've been eating three small meals per day, including lots of local fresh fruits and veggies from the farm down the road, and seem to finally be at my "sweet spot". Speaking of sweet, I've also been allowing myself a "Skinny Cow" ice-cream treat every night and the weight is still dropping! I'm SO happy I could cry! ValleyGirl
I truly believe setting some mini-goals earlier is keeping me focused. I'll try to do 1200 per day then, but during active weight loss for ME that is too much. Sabrina:)
lunalady
Congratulations, Sabrina, on being so dang close to goal you can smell it! I am super excited for you!! You'll have to let us know periodically how you're doing. Hugs!
jhawkchick75
Wow....I don't know how you all do it! I just can't do that few calories, but I am also training for that race so that means I need more calories. Great job! I have stalled I think i'm gonna do the 5 day pouch test next week so I can get the scale moving again. Not that I ever want stuff to get stuck, but I also really feel no major restriction so maybe I need to tighten up a bit. Great job!

Shelby, I have tried everything....eating only three meals a day, eating only when Im hungry, eating three meals plus snacks in between, high calorie day, low calorie day...Nothing has seemed to work for me. After reading Sabrina state that she was only getting in very few calories, I remembered a conversation that I had with one of my friends who was banded here in the US and her Doctor tells her NOT to eat over 800 calories a day. So I thought I would try it this week. I have lost 3 pounds since Monday. Breakfast has never been a big meal for me so I have been eating a bananna or a protein bar. Lunch has been getting stuck, so I have drank a protien shake for lunch and eat a plum for snack and maybe a cup of coffee mid afternoon. ...Dinner has been about 2 maybe 3 oz of meat and maybe another plum....I dont know but this week has been different..... Good luck on your pouch test and let us know how it goes..... Carrie
nothereanymore
Sabrina - congrats - that is so awesome - I can't believe it came up so fast!! You're doing great! And girls, those times when you are stalled - try this, stop eating all grains, sugars, coffee and milk for 2 weeks and focus on eating really clean. You can do meats, but focus on not processed (free range - organic) veggies, fruits, beans and watch what happens. I'm not kidding you - it’s pretty impressive. Understand that you will most likely feel sick for a few days as you detox. (Lemon water works wonders). I can lose between 8 and 12 pounds doing this - and that’s at a lesser weight. (you still have to eat in the right process - meat, veggies, fruits, beans. And you don't mix them up. When you exercise - Shelby I know you're getting ready for a marathon, but if you threw in some lunges before you ran, 50 sit-ups and pushups - mixed it up a bit - just to give an extra kick to change it up. Good luck - and remember - you can't stall forever - its not possible! Lisa

I don't do very many sugars at all except in my fruit juice, but the grains I do quite a bit of. If you get a chance, could you tell me what a typical menu for you might look like for a couple days on that? Just want to make sure I know my options. I tend to get bored and need to mix it up. We have a whole foods here so I could work on getting more organic foods in. I've been stalled for quite some time and would love a kick start, but am always leary of eating too few calories. I am a tweener right now (size 10-8) and I am also soooo close to my first goal. I hoped to hit it by this weekend but no such luck. Thanks!!!!!!!! magpel
Sabrina, that's so cool - only 20lbs! I've got 26 to my goal, and then will evaluate. I have not had a great week - I know it! It sucks! I can totally feel it, too. When I eat things I should not, I feel super full and heavy - greasy almost. Today wasn't so bad - but starting tomorrow again, I'll go back to my 'usual eats'. I find that I'm happy with eating the same thing just about every day - when I start mixing it up too much, my taste buds go wild and I end up eating things that aren't so great. I could feel this mroning that I was retaining water - from the salt I ate last night.....but I LOVE salt! LOL What I've learned through this whole experience is that I can't beat myself up over a few bad days. I need to look at what was going on with me and then I can usually find something going on that was making me pay less atteention to what I was eating and more attention to something going on. My man has been working the last several days in shifts where he's only home a few hours a day - and I think I've just been missing him, and a bit bored once the kids go to sleep -- then I start to snack. He's almost done with this crazy work thing - but I caught it in time - only a fews days of going off the calories allowed. For the next few days I will limit my calories and try and make up for it. PS - I love Skinny Cow. I also LOVE Weight Watchers 'Candy Bar' icecream! only 150 calories and SO good! :-) Keep it up and let's try and keep each other on the path! Peace, Maggie

ValleyGirl
Thanks everyone. In case you are wondering why I haven't been replying much, I'm on vacation for a family wedding in Montreal. Will weigh in when I get home Thursday morning and hopefully I haven't gained any back. It's hard cause I'm not cooking for myself, but I feel good. I was worried flying might make my band tighten but so far, so good. (sorry for the late reply) One other thing we can't do - any juice (sorry) I just have fresh fruit in the morning, with nuts, fruits and veggies to use as my snacks. I generally will cook some chicken breasts, or salmon and bring that to lunch at work - then eat some at dinner, with stir fried veggies. I’ll eat a lot of frozen fruits, (like mangos and blueberries – those are a great desert). I drink a lot of green tea with fresh squeezed lemon and lemon water. I only eat when hungry and I'm sure it can get boring but when your body starts getting all of the good for you foods it does stop craving and after 2 weeks you get a lot of pent up energy and it can lead to heavy exercise. After 2 weeks I can add in organic breads (unbleached white flour) and organic milk and honey. Be careful, you can really feel it when you add these back in. Best and hope all is going well! Lisa Lisa, What are your thoughts on Crystal Light for your water. I have a HARD time drinking plan water. I just wonder, bacause I use like three or four of them a day.. If Im out eating, it has lemon and sweet in low in it. Carrie

nothereanymore
And I agree, you both are looking amazing! I'm not into the crystal lights anymore - I do try to stay away from anything that has the really strong chemicals in it and both have things in it that may affect the liver functions which can lead to obesity. (Read the labels then do Google search on some of the ingredients you can't pronounce and don't understand – its pretty interesting). I buy a bag of lemons at Costco and squeeze one into my water – add some agave nectar, or organic sugar to it and I’m good to go. (With restaurants its super easy – I always ask for lemon on the side for my water – I like lots). http://www.lookgreat-loseweight-savemoney....emon-water.html Best, Lisa
