JudiM
I know we are to wait 45 - 60 minutes after we eat to drink, but do you still have to wait if you have a snack like maybe 2 crackers, or some yogurt or maybe a cookie (only 1!!). I try to wait at least 15 minutes, but not sure if that is long enough. Thanks for any help, Judi
Kristi
Judi, I almost never wait very long to drink a little after eating. But I do take small sips and I don't drink while eating. Every now and then I eat the triscuit garlic parmesan cheese for my snack and after about 2 or 3 I have to take a small sip of water so I can wash it down, otherwise I have issues. Good luck, Kristi
Smiley
I drink after a snack, I just be careful to not take large drinks and if something hurts, I suspend my drinking. For a little humor, my 6 and 8 year old nephews had it reinforced this week that I really don't drink when I eat because they had to ask me to get them something to drink about half way thru dinner each evening. On Saturday we stopped to get gas and I got a drink for myself and beef jerky for them b/c they already had a drink in the car. They were telling me how good the beef jerky was so I asked if I could have a little bite. The youngest one offered me his, but the oldest one told me I couldn't eat a bite b/c I was drinking and I wasn't supposed to eat and drink at the same time. I assured him that I would be okay to take a tiny bite of beef jerky even though I also had a drink. Can't get away with anything when he is watching. jhawkchick75
If I just eat a bite or two then yeah I go ahead and keep on drinking. If it is a decent sized snack I don't or of course a full meal, but if I just have like a couple of cheese cubes or a couple chips then I go on ahead. JudiM
Thanks - guess I will "allow" myself a sip or two if I have a very small snack. Love the story of the your nephews - that seemed to always happen to me when I was dieting - any thing I would put in my mouth - my niece and nephew would ask me if it was ok for me to eat. Sheesh - even when I was eating the right things LOL. Judi
