adcor
Hello All, I have been a lap bander since the end of 2006. I had the banding done at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH by Dr. Connie Campbell (wonderful doctor) . I have a 10cc band which is filled at 9.2 cc which is great for me. I go to the local pre + post -op support groups every month (locally) and am now going to the Intro clasees for people interested in pursuing weight lost alternatives (banding-gastric bypass) and tell them of what a wonderful trip I have been on. Showed them what I lloked like before and now. Hopefully I am an inspiration to them. I currently underwent a panniculectomy which I had close to 10 pounds of excess skin removed. What a change having that "hanging chad" removed after all these years. I am proud of what I have accomplished, diabetes-under remission, BP under remission, kidney stones (which almost led to renal failure)-no longer an issue and am off all my meds (9) before banding. Take Care Cor

adcor
Thanks for introducing yourself and congratulations!!! You must feel so proud. What is the other surgery you had?Sabrina:) The other operation the panniculectomy, was to remove the excess skin from my abdominal and pelvic area. This has plague me from a lot of my life and has cause skin infection and rashes, also I had an L4-L5 herniated disc repair in 1989 and since the weight loss the hanging skin has been causing some nerve damage as well. So on June 24 I had almost 7 1/2 inches of hanging skin below the pelvic area taken off. What a difference that made. If you have probelms I would take pictures (even though it sound weird) but if it is for medical and not cosmetic reason then depending on your insurance they will pay. Which in my case they did. Take Care
