Question & Observations

Recommended Posts

So the last fill I got seems to be my 'sweet spot' - This is good. I can see a physical difference in my body and I've lost about 22 pounds since I started back on this journey. I want to be a poster child for the people who fell off the band-wagon. ::that was kinda' funny::

Anyway - I have lots of stress right now with work. I work in the education field and obviously the pace has picked up - so after texting a lapband mate (Thanks, Angie!) I realized that I'll be needing to do the Maalox, liquid diet for awhile - nothing will go down. It's not that I'm even PBing... no matter how soft the food seems to be, no matter how much I chew, it comes right back up. It's like I've closed up like a steel trap. I can get clear fluids down, but that's it. I had read about this happening to others here on the boards, but had never experienced it until now - WHEW, it's awful.

All of that aside, here is my question: Like I said before, I can see the physical spots where the weight has left - SO COOL! It seems, however, to be leaving my chest area - and not my stomach area where I would really like to see some gone. Now, I'm not complaining, it's also leaving around my waist - I have a defined waist now - that's awesome!

Are there any exercises that will help with this tummy thing I have going on? You know, there's something wonderful about child-birth that seems to give us this wonderful tummy that's difficult to get rid of.

How did everyone else work on the tummy part of things?

Thanks to everyone for being on these Boards - I've never met any of you, but I watch your progress and I'm constantly awed by our fierce grace to be healthy and well people.

Hi Simone, :-h

I have been going to the gym alot. My belly is still like jelly but it is definitely smaller and it is going down.

I do cardio and lots of weights. The one that has seemed to help is my lower body twists..

I love them & so much easier to me than crunches or sit-ups.

The lower body twists consists of lying on your back with arms straight out and palms down.

Then your legs are at a 90degree angle.

Then you rotate your legs (while in 90 degree position) from one side to the other. (I also call these the windshield wipers.)

All while holding your core (stomach, bottom and all else) tight.

I do these 4 times a week when I go to the gym along with eliptical, bike and other misc. weight machines and free weights.

I keep pretty busy there at the gym.

Now I know my belly will probably not be flat ever, unless I decide to have the TT. But I figure I will do my darndest to work it OFF.. :lb25:

Take Care,

Kristi
