Very inspiring! As I get closer and closer to my surgery date (September 25) I'm getting nervous and (once again) wondering if this is the right thing to do, so it's nice to hear that there are others who were hesitant. I've been pondering this for a year and a half!

Thanks Ladies!

I had the surgery 5/8/08 and fills in 7/08 and 01/09. I started out here like you girls scared and fearful, I knew I had to get on here and let you know there is hope. I felt very dicouraged when I didnt loose 120lbs the first 6 months... I wondered why the weight didnt melt off in "miracle" fasion. My male cousin had it done and I swear all of those things happed for him. I never lost hope just as the pounds slowly came off I got more energy and started to walk in the AM (for me this was HUGE). I also stopped feeling sorry for myself and quit eating the crappy foods, lets face it ice cream is evil! So many of us have the same questions asked over and over and no matter what our situations are as unique as we are, but none the less it is comforting knowing we arent the only ones going though this. Hang in there girls at the end of this "journey" we will be sexy on the outsides too!

Babe,

Are you over your despair now?

Pammie, Sabrina - give us (Babe and me) some encouraging words.

Margaret

So over it!!! Just please remember (so I don't have to say TOLD YOU SO, lol) that it is a slow slow slow process and you will hit plateaus and wonder why you did it. That is NORMAL but very disheartening none the less. This will not be easy but it will be easier than everything else you have tried. There will be good days and bad....a break-up is never easy. Yes, you are going to be breaking up with some of your favorite foods and even though you know they are not good for you, you will miss them now and then. It's those times I busy myself with the new healthier relationships I've formed here! When you need to vent, we are here!
