Oh its been a few years since I went there - but the museam is FREAKING amazing! Wish I had a whole day to look around! Trolley around the city - we walked and it was cold...but it is beautiful! Honestly I cant remember what things are called - oops and I am too lazy to pull out my scrapbook. We also went to the old penetentiary (okay I cant spell) - that was VERY COOL - again, it was really cold in there though, since dark etc - so dress warm, I froze my butt off!

The King of Prussia mall was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to buy two more suitcases on top of the two huge empty ones I already brought down with me lol

Check with someone who is from there though on which areas not to walk around in.

Oh - we also went to the aquarium in NJ :) It was just a trolley ride away, and I got some amazing pictures!

So I was thinking,

I am going to Philadelphia in early October and wanted to know if anyone has recommendations on what to see and experience while there...

I am looking forward to going on my vacation to Philadelphia. I have heard too about the museums. I will be going to museums. I also want to try a philly cheese steak hoagie, minus the bread... More than likely I will split on with my husband, or just steal some meat from his. :D He will let me so I guess it is not stealing.....

I researched the penitentiary to see what it is about and I think I was to see it, although I read it is haunted.

I also am going to take one of my husbands duty days and go into Atlantic City, NJ. I so want to see the boardwalk.

BTW, Carrie, me too.

I live just outside of Philly. The Franklin Institute is having a Cleopatra exhibit until january. Art museum is free on Sunday. Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square if you are into flowers. Reading Terminal Market right across from Convention Center...you name it, they got it. An hour or so drive gets you to Amish country. Cape May NJ has beautiful Victorian houses. The zoo is awesome. Independence Hall, the US mint, Chinatown, Franklin Mills outlet mall, be sure to hit Burlington Coat Factory, they always have great bargains.
