elain67
My experience was wonderful. I had my husband go but after going and experiencing I would have gone alone. They surgery was so easy, I actually woke up afterward thinking I had woken up before they had a chance to do the surgery Ha! Ha! Of course they had done it and everyone on they staff was great. I didn't have any pain just kind of a dull feeling that my abdomen was a little sore. Good luck with your journey.

I wish I would have been banded at that age. It would have made a huge difference. Good luck sweetie.

I arrived in TJ October 20th we arrived at the border at 8pm where we met with the driver who we followed we took our own car being that we live 2 hours away . when crossing the border we waited for about 35 mins to cross we had to go to a speacial line since the van was a but larger the drivers van our car is small but anyways they just asked what we were going into TJ for we told them the searched the car and off we were we stayed at the Marriot which i want to say was about 15 mins. from the border we arrived at the Marriot where we were greeted by everyone the concierges they unloaded our luggage and took it upstairs to our room everything was super clean the marriot itself was very nice we checked in the staff was super friendly we were on the 2nd floor super nice room two beds nice room overall we were all checked in and settled around 9:45 pm we then went downstairs to their restaurant to have dinner i didnt want to eat much so ordered soup and shared a dessert with my mother we went back to the room and slept super comfy beds... that was day one
Erenstar983
DAY 2 surgery day~!!!!!October 21st the big day i woke up at 5:45 am the van was to pick us up at 7am got ready couldn't drink anything took the elevator downstairs waited in the lobby while my grandma and mother ate at the restaurant for breakfast saw several ladies in the lobby who were to have surgery the same day if correct i would say there were a total of 9 people not all were to have surgery but that's how many there were. my grandma and mother finished breakfast and met me in the lobby soon after at about 7:13 the van showed up the van is trough the hotel not trough OCC so marriot was late finally we are driving away about 14 mins to the OCC we arrive at the OCC they are on the second floor there were several patients from the day before who were checking out all of them seemed to be ok a little drowsy but all said that everything was great and that they felt great they had 6 patients total scheduled for surgery the same day as me we got a welcome speech my the receptionist we filled out paperwork paid and had our pictures taken for out kids meal card we were then given a white folder with phone numbers and diet instructions we were then asked one by one in no particular order to go get blood drawn and have our IV inserted if we hadn't had blood drawn the day before which i hadn't the lady was very food her name was josephine we were then taked to see DR.Miranda the nutritionist who explained what i could eat and what i shouldnt eat and that eating improperly could cause complications she then weighed me and told me what my body fot was and what my goal weight was i was then taken to a cardiologist who did and EKG and had me blow into a machine to see the strength of my esophagus and lungs i passed and then i was back in the waiting room
Erenstar983
continuing day 2 ~ once in the waiting room we waited for about 15 mins then soon after i was called to go back i was guided to my room my room had a sign outside that said my name and what city i was from my room had a flat screen DISH unlimited channels a fountain soothing music and two coaches paintings on the wall and a plant on the table there was a personalized letter from DR.Ortiz with words of inspiration and guidelines there was also a gown and the infamous paper underwear lol..... i was asked to get dressed and to open the door once i was ready once i was ready i had a super sweet nurse come in who put on me some super long stockings to prevent blood clots soon after i have the other nurse come in and place liquids in mt IV and to take two pills one was Adivan and the other was some type of blood pressure medicine 2 mins later DR.Ortiz walked in super handsome and charming he explained to me what would be expected of the band asked if i had questions and was talking to my grandma and mom super nice soon after maybe 5 mins later i was taken to the ER in a wheelchair one in the ER i was not nervous they strapped my arms down put a cuff on one arm put something else in the other and i asked the anesthesiologist how i would know if i am allergic he said that's why they do all the test and then he said im going to inject something that will knock u out and after that it was a blur once i woke up i guess i had a very common reaction to the anesthesia and i was crying a lot they had to give me a relaxant because i wouldn't stop crying i was fine soon after i was a little foggy still but managed to start walking 15 mins later a little light headed but ok Had some gas somewhat uncomfortable but ok my surgery lasted about 40 mins my grandma and mother had to leave at around 4pm so i just watched tv and called friends and family super cool that the phones are free long distance slept trough out the night and woke up at 3 am and watched TV for an hour then went back to sleep i had capri suns and ice pops and chicken broth at the occ unlimited the center was super clean everything was i was 100% impressed will write again soon
