KatieB
It turns out I have a 10cm band that only holds 4cc's and now I am maxed out and topped off at 4cc's at this time. At 3.8cc's I had absolutely NO restriction at all. I feel some restriction at this time with the 4cc's in the band, but what will happen when I no longer have that restriction? Is this is it for me? Anyone have the same problem? Thanks, KatieB

Thanks, KatieB Hi Katie, I'm a beginner with all this fill stuff (I've only had one to date) Can you explain the science behind a 10cc band only being capable of holding 4cc?? Or, is it that you just have too much restriction at 4cc?? I'm a bit of a technical dummy so any explaination would be appreciated!! Thanks!! KatieB
The band itself is not 10cc's, Its 10cm which would be the length of the band. The 10cm band only holds 4cc's of saline. I too was confused by that at first. I just wasnt looking at it right.
Smiley
There is a substance that is thicker than the saline that can be put in the band. This has helped some people achieve the restriction they need. I do not know the name of it, but you might ask your fill doctor about it. Another thing to double check is that you are eating solid forms of protein and that you are eating them first, before you eat your fruits and vegetables so a to help your band work for you.
dawns
I was told that the 4cc band can actually hold more than 4cc. Maybe you should call the OCC and get their opinion. dawn

ksk
*ugh*.... I feel your pain sista!!!! I too have a 4cc band and have had about 5 or 6 fills since 1st being banded. More than what I had expected when I 1st started this journey. But nevertheless, I knew that this process had been successful for so many others that "my turn" was just around the corner. My last fill brought me up to 3.7cc in my 4cc band and I FREAKED OUT!!! But until now, I HAD NO RESTRICTION WHATSOEVER - NONE - NADA - ZILTCH!!! But here I am now, feeling like I am about to hit my "max", and *finally* feeling restriction. My weight loss has been agonizingly SLOW as I've only lost 15 lbs from the time I was banded 6 months ago, but I feel like I am now on the right track now and the band is doing exactly what I had hoped it would do - Help me with my portion control which has always been my downfall. Not the junk food, but plain 'ol portion control... My dr. told me that "just in case" I needed another fill, that the bands are quite capable of holding more than what they say - She called it "extra wiggle room." Meaning, the 4cc band could probably hold somewhere around 4.3cc's. So stay calm and don't worry. Try getting in the solid type of proteins like chicken, chicken salad, yogurt, cottage cheese, bean salad, tofu... Something more (but in addition to) your protein drink/shake. Step-up the solid proteins and your weight will drop down. Don't lose hope -
