What's happening?

Recommended Posts

I have finished my 21 days of liquid diet on March 1st 2010. I was losing 1/2 pound to 1 pound a day. Now, I haven't lost a thing ? I am eating very little ( 1000 calories a day ) and nothing, nada! Can anyone help me ? I really don't get what is happening ? Is it because I am not on liquids anymore? Help

In general, you won't lose 1/2 to 1 pound per day, that is VERY fast weight loss. You lose this during the liquid phase because you are only on liquids! That is not a normal diet. Losing 2 pounds per week is a good amount to lose. Remember, you haven't even had your first fill yet. Your body is used to only liquids and very low calories, so now that you are eating more regular food and more calories, it will need to adjust to that. After the liquid diet and before you reach your "sweet spot" it is normal to not lose or even gain some weight. Don't worry, you will get a few fills in you and everything will eventually work out.

Congrats!! You are doing great! The fact that you are able to maintain and track 1000 calories a day right now explains the temporary plateau AND why you are not gaining some of the weight back! That is huge and you deserve to treat yourself to a mani/pedi! Trust me, the same thing happened to me when I went back to solids and calorie tracking (although my intake was 1200 per day) is what saved me from gaining. Keep up the good work and only weigh once a week and you should notice a lose of 1-2 pounds per week as long as your track your intake and stick to it. Kick the excercise up a notch to 30 minutes per day and you are good to go.

Nothing out of the ordinary. That was a great loss on liquids! Stick to just eating 1/3 of what you "would" have eaten pre-band. 2-3 lbs a week is an awesome loss. That's what I'm sticking to--or trying to that is. I need to amp up the exercising. Great job!

Ditto! I gained about half of my loss back after I went back on solids. When I got my first fill my dr told me that was actually good and that a lot of folks gain it all back when back on solids. When you get a couple fills in you it will come off again. Just be patient. You are doing good!
