senior2010
So I came to TJ with Mom this time. She got banded and I got my fill today. She is doing fine, in the hospital room, lonely haha. I am here in the hotel switching from spanish television to movies I brought with me; oh and writing my college graduation thesis paper... sort of... haha! I got my fill this morning and it went better than I could have thought. I wasn't sure actually what to think, but I was nervous that it was going to be like the surgery for some reason. Nothing like it. I went into the room and had to drink a white thick liquid that showed up on the xray machine. It was cool to see my band, my stomach, and the liquid pass from my throat into my 1st stomach and then into the 2nd stomach. I had my surgery in January, so my stomach has had more than enough time to fully heal with the band in there. This also means that I got the maximum for a first fill, 5cc. So I will have liquids for two days then jump back into eating; however I think it will be less than before. We shall see...

Good luck with that and glad your Mom is doing well so far. That seems like so much for a first fill, or any fill for that matter. That should make a huge difference I would think. I have just been banded and wondered how people did after the first fill. 5cc's does sound like quite a bit for the very first fill...but I would trust the doctor's to know what was best. I will check back to see what other posts you put up on your new fill. Good luck and Congrats to your Mom for her new band. '
Kristi
Congrats to your Mom on getting Banded! Wow, 5cc's on the first fill. How are you feeling after the first 24 hours of that fill? Take it easy and make sure to take it slow when it is time for solids. Kristi
Aliveat55
I had a 5cc first fill at OCC and have yet to really feel real restriction. I am just now past my 5th fill and am at 7.8cc. Just had a fill today. I hope this one actually provides restriction. I hear you might need more than 8.5 with the Realize 11cc band.
