canuck
I would love to hear how those who have been so successful have done it. I was banded on July 16, 2009, and went through a long period of getting small fills and feeling very little restriction. I'm now up to 9cc and finally I can feel restriction. I have lost 35 pounds (down from 205 to 170) but I hope to lose another 35 by my one year anniversary. I'm not complaining about how I look (lost lots of inches) or feel (much healthier), but for the past 3 months I seem to go up and down 3 pounds, rather than keep going down. I exercise 4 days a week. I eat primarily broiled chicken, yogurt (30 cal per 100grams),and salad (home made dressing-very little)--and easily one third of what I used to eat. I tend to graze rather than eat specific meals. I am inspired by reading all your achievements--especially those of you who have reached their goal. Bravo! Can you send me some advice? Many thanks
CanadianBandster
I made sure I measured what I ate when I let myself get too hungry - but the biggest was to not let myself get there in the first place. I would have a small snack in between. I had a slim fast smoothy for breakfast everyday - BECAUSE it was my favorite - and if I didnt I wouldnt eat anything. The #1 thing that helped me reach my goal - was my friend. We emailed each other not kidding everything we put in our mouths and if it werent for that I would never have reached my goal. I eat a lot of soup as well - again because I like to and it seemed to help me accomplish what I wanted. I cut out A LOT of carbs. I hardly ever eat bread- very very rarely, I think that attributed to about 80% of my weight loss. I
jhawkchick75
I am not at goal yet thanks to this pesky last 10lbs, but hoping to get there soon. Most of it is my fault not eating right and exercising. But the best advice I can give you is to make sure you are eating enough calories (that is many times an issue) and are measuring. Also lots of water can help too. I'd encourage you to measure and journal your food every day to make sure you are getting enough and a good mix of food. Many of us journal on here every day and you are welcome to join us!
ValleyGirl
I lose the most when I up my protein and cut out carbs. Since eating carbs again the past few months I haven't lost anything. When I have a good fill, I can't eat carbs at all. Right now I have very little fill and I'm trying to saty away from them but it's a daily struggle. Also, DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST! canuck
Wow. Thanks all for your responses. I will join the group to report daily intake and I will need to cut out carbs completely. I don't eat them regularly but I've been in situations from time to time when I forget to eat and feel weak. I sometimes rely on carbs to avoid feeling faint-they seem to be so readily available in a pinch. How do you deal with weekends when everyone is having wine? I find his really difficult. I'm not a big drinker, but if I have a glass or two of wine, it has to be a Zin and I always add a little diet 7-up to it. I think they call it a spritzer? This way your cutting your carbs. jhawkchick75
I still drink I refuse to give that up. When i'm out I do wine or juice like a vodka and cranberry. when at home I do vodka in crystal light so I keep it low cal.
