JULY SURGERIES AND FILLS

Recommended Posts

The year is just flying by. July has all those picnics, food and beer everywhere. For some of you,, you've decided to change your life and choose to have WLS and skip the food frenzy. This topic is where you can meet those who have scheduled their surgery or fills. Let's hear from the patients that have scheduled during the month of July.

I was banded Sept 29th, 2009 but am booked to have an extended tummy tuck and thigh lift in July. Down 125 pounds and still loosing. I hope to be at my goal before my tummy tuck. Having this band has changed my life 100% for the better.

I just scheduled my surgery for July 1st. I'm excited but really nervous too. It has helped to have this forum to come to and read about the experiences of other people. I'm encouraged to see so many people having such positive results. I'm planning on doing the protein shakes with one lean meal 2 weeks prior to the surgery. I've tried the shakes and they seem fine. Are these shakes allowed after the surgery during the post-op diet? Just trying to figure out what I'll be eating.

I am scheduled for July 30th...SO EXCITED!! I really have a feeling I may need to postpone for September due to finances. Hope it is not a problem. If I can get all of my ducks and clams in a row, July 30th would be perfect! Fingers crossed!

My surgery is scheduled for July 2nd. I began my 2 week liquid diet today. I'm on Myoplex Light protein shakes which I find completely vile. I think I'm going to end up getting protein powder and adding it to skim milk. I'm supposed to drink 5 today and I couldn't make it past 3. I'm supplimenting with low sodium chicken broth which is tasty and I'm allowed two cups of raw or steamed vegetables (no corn, potatoes or legumes). I think I'll be fine as long as I can figure out this protein shake thing. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone! This is my first post. My surgery is scheduled for July 19th. I am planning on starting my pre-op diet tomorrow because I know my body and I don't lose weight quickly. I want to make sure I lose 5% before surgery. I'm not nervous about the surgery itself; I'm more nervous about life after surgery. I know it's going to be a journey and I'm ready for the ride. :)

Why a port relocation?

I have had a lot of discomfort over the last 18mos. I just never thought about moving it until now. Totally my decision.

I had my surgery July 1st. It went really well, everyone at Dr. Ortiz office was wonderful. It was so fast I didn't think it had happened. We stayed at the Marriott for a couple days after and are now in San Diego for a few days. I was worried something would go wrong and I wanted to be by the Dr. Of course everything has gone beautifully. I was on the protein shakes for 2 weeks before the surgery so having only liquids hasn't been bad. The amazing Tylenol helped with that and today I feel great.

My husband and best girlfriend came with me. They have been wonderful. Trader Joe's was the best place to find things to drink. The coconut water is yummy, between it and chicken broth I'm doing fine. We'll be here for a few more days then back home.

We had thought to use the Fill Center in North Carolina but after speaking to the staff we've reconsidered. I'll be back in August for my fill. I can't imagine not dropping weight on this liquid diet for 21 days!

Thanks to everyone for being so supportive. I know I'll be on here again and again to learn from you all. I'm really looking forward to this stage of my life.

I was banded last Friday 7/2/2010 and I have been doing nothing but broth and water / juice. I physically look like I am losing in some places but when I got on the scale, it says that I have gained since I have left the hospital. I havent had one solid bite of anything and I am following the liquids perfectly. Is something wrong ? why would I be gaining ?

Hey guys! I'm going for my surgery on July 13th! I'm anxious to get the surgery over with and start adapting to life after the band. I'm a teacher, so I'm really hoping that I have my new routine down before school starts. I want to lose 76 pounds in all, then buy some new professional clothing! (I can't wait to shop for a smaller figure!!)
