Smiley
It is so good to have a computer at home once again! I have missed so much not being on here the past few months that there is no way I can ever catch up. So, I am going to give you a little update on myself and hope that you all will do the same for me. From here on out I swear I will check in a few days each week, providing the mother board doesn't go out on this computer. I know I need to update my pictures and such as well and I vow to get that done in the next week or so. Against my wishes I had 2 cc's removed in mid-March. The issue was caused by one bite of cold, leftover chicken that I had eaten 6 weeks previously in an attempt to take the edge off one morning about 10 am. It hurt like no other and I ended up leaving work to go home and lay down, which finally allowed it to reposition itself and go down. I evidently irritated things more than I knew and 6 weeks later it took me 2 to 3 hours to get breakfast to go down a couple of days in a row, so in I went. The person who did my unfill was the one that had bought me that chicken for lunch one day so I made sure to give him a little bit of a hard time about it. He had already told me that he wanted me to have a partial unfill before my gallbladder was taken out, but I had no intention of having it done. In the end he got his way. I did have my gallbladder out on Apr. 22nd. Everything has gone well with that and I was back at work 2 days and a weekend later. Wasn't supposed to lift anything over 15 pounds for 4 weeks, but I may have forgotten that rule a few times. I was hoping to have my port relocated at the same time, but I could not afford to have it done, so needless to say it is in the same place as always, which means it is kind of in the way. Now it is your turn to update me on yourself and if you are a newbie please introduce yourself. Andrea I have gained about 3 pounds in the last couple of months. This unfill is starting to get to me as I have become a Starvin' Marvin. I e-mailed the fill guy and he is supposed to be checking with my surgeon to see if it has been long enough since the surgery for me to get refilled. I hope so b/c my fingers are getting pretty sore from trying to hold on. Other than scrambled eggs cooked in the microwave, and the stupid bite of chicken, I have always been able to eat pretty much anything which is still true and not in a good way. AngieB
Andrea ~ Here is my update. I have been at a stand still in WL for months. I went in and spoke to the nurse, and talked to her about a defill of a small amount of saline. She advised me against it. Given that I am not having the "normal" problems that would trigger a defill. She asked me to hang in there and try to get my behaviors under wraps. What I am finding is the amount I can eat is very small. Which is what we all strive for. Only thing is, I go rogue on eating when I get home from work. I snack and graze. The nurse asked me to add snacks to see if that would help. It has not. I feel worse about it, cuz it feels like I am eating all day.....Anyway, I am working the snacks bak out. It is funny how fast your body gets use to having something. I am no longer night eating! Victory! I love not waking up to eat. That was a bad habit that I desperately needed to STOP! I have started walking over my lunch hour. I have 4 other co-workers who have started to walk with me!!! So any given day at work, I have walking partners. We do a 2.5 mile walk daily. Some days more. Which is awesome. I have noticed that my body is toning and loosing inches. Yahoo! So that is a huge positive in my life. So as always, I am a work in progress. It's like I am an onion, I peel a layer to find another layer to work on. My progress has been something I am pleased about. Not always what I have had expectations of, but I am thankful for every accomplisment and value my band. Oh, and I gave her a name too! LOL I decided on Hope, cuz she gives me hope. Hope for my future health, hope for so many goals. Right now, the meals I am eating are healthy, but my snacks are semi healthy to down right junk....so that is an area I need to pay attention to and give myself some love in. Sorry for you troubles Andrea, but it sounds like you have done fantastic on maintaining with your fluid out, which is a HUGE SUCCESS!! It sure is good to see you back. I have missed you and your candid posts. Welcome back.. ((HUGS)) Angie

Smiley
Thanks Pammie and Shelby! Angie - glad to hear that you have support with the walking thing, having others to walk with will definitely help to keep you motivated. As for the unfill, sometimes eating bad stuff can be a sign that you need an unfill b/c that often means that you know the good stuff causes problems and you are trying to avoid those problems. Besides, not eating enough calories can slow your weight loss just as much as eating too much. One of my banded friends said the other day that our fill guy told her that the amount of calories wasn't what we really needed to worry about, it is the amount of protein that is key to our success. I adopted that policy for a few weeks and saw the pounds drop off and it was lovely.
