Having just returned from TJ(my daughter got banded), I must report my displeasure at being put up at the Mariott Hotel.

Having stayed at the Lucerna several times in the past, I was extremely disappointed in the Mariott.

I cannot comprehend why OCC, in maintaining its US excellence rating would put patients up at the Mariott

rather than the Lucerna. There is NO comparison! The Lucerna is far classier, has better service, is by far a more

beautiful and serene place to be at, and has much better food and food choices for patient guests. Sitting around the

Mariott was truly difficult and boring, to say the least.

Hi,

I have to say although not in such strong terms..that I agree with you. But, the staff treated me wonderful at each hotel. My take on the Marriott was it was too big, and businesslike, while the Lucerna was a much more agreeable and relaxing place..bascially what you thought. I tried each one, the Marriott with my daughter when she was banded, myself at the Lucerna. we both liked the Lucerna more..

Oh no wonder if they will let me stay at the other hotel, I think I am scheduled for the marriot.

Me too. Carolyn from OCC recommended it - said it was much better. hmmm....

I also had no problem with the Marriott. I stayed there twice, once for my banding and once with my daughter for her banding. We weren't given the option of the Lucerna. Carolyn said the Marriott was the best when she booked us. I wish I'd stayed at the Lucerna now so I could compare the two, but I really had no problem with the Marriot. Everyone there was nice, the food was good, rooms were good, and they had several computers we could use. I guess the only downside was it was farther away from OCC than the Lucerna.

I stayed at the Marriott and loved it. Good food, friendly staff, buissness center with computers and store with juice, water etc. Did not have to leave the hotel for anything unless i wanted to.
