kat03
Hello. I have had 2 fills, and find if I don't chew enough, food will stick. I would like to go for my 3rd fill. Will it make the sticking worse, or is it simply me learning to chew better?? Any advice would be so helpful!! THANK YOU!
EcMjawad1
Hello, My personal thought on this (having to go through a similar process) is that before you move on to the next "phase" as I call it, you become comfortable with your currant one..and the habit of chewing your food well..otherwise I would imagine another fill will make it worse for you...I am going for my second fill next week, now that I am comfortable with my first fill and the chewing issue. AngieB
Hello. I have had 2 fills, and find if I don't chew enough, food will stick. I would like to go for my 3rd fill. Will it make the sticking worse, or is it simply me learning to chew better?? Any advice would be so helpful!! THANK YOU! I would come to the point where you are comfortable with your currant fill level before getting zip tied any more. Each time you have an issue you are aggravating the band and it's healing process. My best advice is adjust first, then fill. Cutting your food up into smaller pieces may help. Taking time between each bite, putting your fork down. Chewing thirty or more times before you swallow each bite. Those are some of the things I have done for myself.
EricaG
What these two ladies said is very true. I think you should really adjust to the fill amount you have now. I am at my 3rd fill and the only reason i got my 3rd fill was because i felt NOTHING, no sticking NADA. like i had no fills. So i have my 3rd fill and i get stuck sometimes when i don't chew enough.. but when i do chew sufficiently, i feel good and satisfied after eating. don't rush
MargieK
My husband teases me because I cut my meat into little teeny tiny pieces before I even leave the kitchen counter. And I still try to take the time to chew everything into mush before I swallow. I think this has really helped me eat less too because it makes me slow down my eating. I would not recommend moving forward with more fills if you are having issues now. If you get too tight you might really irritate your pouch and then have to get a complete unfill and start the process all over again. Lindsay
I agree with what everyone else has said. Getting another fill will not help things ... it will just make it a lot more difficult. I'd stay where you are.
skinnyagain
DITTO DITTO DITTO DITTO--MORE FILL IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. I HAD TO MUCH OF A FILL AND WASN'T LOOSING AT ALL. TOOK SOME OUT AND WHAMMO, STARTED LOOSING. I WOULD NOT GET A FILL YET. WHEN YOU CAN EAT AND NOT GET THINGS STUCK ALL THE TIME, AND YOUR NOT LOOSING THEN THINK ABOUT A FILL. YOU STILL HAVE TO DO YOUR PART. EXERCISE, EAT RIGHT..ETC THE BAND IS A TOOL, SAID SOO WELL BY DR. ORTIZ.... HE HAS A BOOK, DID YOU BUY IT? IT IS A GREAT REFERNCE WHEN YOU FORGET THINGS. I WOULD BUY IT IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT... KIM
