ATLMark Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 I am post-op day 9 and at times get a fever of around 99 - 100. Is this normal during the healing process? When I take Tylenol, the fever usually subsides. Thanks!! Mark
DwayneH Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 I don't believe it is. Are you maybe getting the flu? Sometimes fever are signs of infection it couldnt hurt to maybe get checked out by a doctor
Danana Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 I am day 10 post-op and never once had a fever. On the paper they give you, fever is on the list for possible problems. Call the OCC and see what they say!
lapRn Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 hey Mark having a fever is not a post op normal reaction. I agree call the occ, make sure u are well hydrated and have a doc look at the incisions if you think there possibly an infection.. Hope you feel better
ATLMark Posted September 20, 2010 Author Report Posted September 20, 2010 Thanks for the kind words everyone! I haven't had a fever or nausea in a few days, so I think it was just my body adapting. I feel great now! I will call the OCC if I start to feel bad again. I love the support on here! Thanks!! Mark
stacv Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 why have you been taking your temp ? did you take it often before your band ? even though 98.6 is the standard for body temp, some poeple naturally have temps that are slightly higher or lower.
ATLMark Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 My temperatures are usually normal, around 98.6 degrees. I checked my temperature today since I was feeling a little sluggish and it was 99.5. I called Dr. So at the OCC and he said this was normal since my body is still adjusting to having a foreign object in it. He said to keep it monitored and to call if it goes above 100 degrees. I feel much better about this after talking to Dr. So. Mark
