finallyrealdeal
Ok so I need help, I was banded on the 7th and I have lost 25 pounds since surgery which is really good but I am starting to eat solids again and I am not feeling full or anything. I eat uncontrollably! I don’t eat nearly as much as I did before but I feel like I need to get this under control before I start gaining weight again. I haven’t been loosing any weight and I haven’t gained either since i started eating meals... I am just super stressed and I need advice from people who have been through this and maybe can relate. I am scheduled for November 1st for my first fill. Do you think I should continue on liquids? HELP PLEASE!!!
kat03
Everyone is different, but, as I was informed when I had this issue, You don't start feeling restriction until the second (or third) fill. Lean protein will help you feel full longer than carbs. I gained about 20% of what I initially lost until my second fill. After my second fill, I began losing again. I think the liquid diet works at first because you are not as hungry just after getting the band. Now that your hungry, I think just liquids is unrealistic. Keep high protein foods close and hand in there. DwayneH
The first few days after starting on solids again i ate uncontrollably also. I think your mind just plays tricks on you because you ahvent ate solid food in so long. Just try your best and you will get it under control
ripcityrenegade
Dwayne, Try to eat some thing that makes you chew a lot. I grab 6-10 almonds and I am shocked that if I do something I soon am not hungry. A spoonful of peanut butter also works well. Good Luck TC RCR

lovesMaui
I was just like you. I didn't feel restriction until the first fill. It took a lot of will power and discipline to only eat half of what I used to. Eat 3 small meals a day. Start with your protein, then veggies, then carbs. Best wishes! canuk98828
Okay, so here are my two cents. I start my morning out with the Breakfast bites from eggface.com. You can make a weeks worth of bits at a time and then just heat them in the micro. At lunch I do my protien and veggies and fruit. Dinner is same as lunch with a little bit of carbs about 2/3 times a week. Other than that, I drink lots of flavored water and take fiber chewables as well as my vitamins. Lindsay
i had NO restriction until my 3rd fill. At the OCC they send you home with empty band, so that's why you don't feel anything. They want you to heal, and start working on your eating habits .. THEN, go back for your first fill approx 3 months later.

I tend to get more hungary around dinner time. I dont eat throughout the day and then i find myself starving in the evening. i find this getting easier though as each day passes. i may not be losing weight but i am eating way better and that is rewarding just to know that my body is healthier than ever .
