Doing the Liquid Diet, again.

I'm 1 year and few months into WLS... I had the lap band and lost 49 lbs. I've currently noticed that I've been really bad at portion control and pretty much stuffing my face to the limit of sliming. I really need to stop this behavior, I know. I really don't want to damage myself or my band so I'm going to give it a break and go back on the liquid diet for a week. I think that every once in a while it needs a break. I irritated my band once in the past and I would not want it to get back to that again. Does anyone else do this? Go back on protein shakes to give it a break?

Once again, you and I are at the same spot. I also have started to not be good about portion control and have been thinking of doing a liquid diet to regain control. Thanks for the reminder

Here is a link to the "5-day pouch test". It is a very helpful way for your band to "get it's happy back" -- (sorry, just watched a repeat of Real Housewives of Atlanta--haha). Good luck to you--you can do it!

Oh that's interesting.. I'll do that. I just bought a huge box of ensure from costco so I'll probably do a few days of liquid protein. And having the rest for breakfast in the mornings. since that's when I have the most difficulty with sliming.

Well let's get on it! LOL let me know how you feel after you're done. I always feel alot better when I go on a few days of liquid.

I'm really tight in the AM, too .. and always start with a cup of something hot (coffee), before I can get something decent down.

Erica, I have always felt like I can eat a lot but it just takes me a long time to finish. I do a cleanse every 6 months to get rid of toxins and to get back on track. I have tried to do a liquid diet again and it has been so hard for me. What I do when cleansing is eat raw fruits, veggies and water. I usually do it for 5 days. It will clean out your system for sure....I also do admit, I have added hummus before because I was so hungry.
