sandi55
Hi, just signed up. I am scheduled for plication surgery on April 11. I have to fly from California to Washington state after. about a 3 1/2 hour flight. Have been told I need to worry about DVT (Blood clots in legs) because I am flying 2 days after surgery. Anyone out there had this problem? thanks in advance.

Hope this helps.

sandi55
Thanks for responding. It does help! How long ago was your surgery, and how are you doing?
itsanewday
I am concerned about the same thing. I have 2 short layovers but approximately 8 hours in the air. It will be a 12 hour return to eastern Canada. I am sure it will be a long difficult day. I have looked at a variety of articles which give tips to reduce risk of DVT.Walking every 15-30 minutes when possible, Drinking water at regular intervals, walking briskly at the airport during a layover. these are just a couple I remember but I plan on looking into this further.
