Plication on 7/26 - Family Medical Leave

I will be having gastric plication on July 26th. Is anybody else going that week. I have scheduled vacation time from work but I am curious if I would be able to use family medical leave during this time. Has anyone else done this?

My sister did this. We also have short term disability at our work. I didn't use it, but Carolyn told me they will fill out any paperwork needed.

_{You need to check with your Human Resources Department to see what their policy is regarding FMLA. I am the Human Resources Director where I work and our policy is you must take FMLA if you will be out more than 3 days. We do allow them to use their sick or vacation time in conjuction with FMLA. I would if I were you because if something happens, FMLA is there to protect your job.}
