tmlewis57760
I'm in the research phase right now. A friend of mine had the gastric sleeve done with Dr. Ortiz and highly recommends him and his clinic/surgery center. I want to begin the pre-op diet to be healthy when the surgery becomes a reality. So what is the diet?
Godschild
It depends, if your doing the 4 weeks or more 2 shakes one lean meal and vitamins, 2 week pre opt 3 shakes a day and green vegetables, and lots of fluid. It also depends on your health history on which diet they will give you.
Bella1980
You can try to email them to see if they can give you examples of the diets they give out. I think it depends on your starting BMI and a few other health issues are taken into account. Also the main purpose besides the loss of weight is to flush the fat from your liver as that is where excess fat is stored to help aid in surgery. As it makes the procedure easier to retract the liver to gain access to the stomach.
tmlewis57760
I have been in contact with OCC nutritionist and we are working together to get started on a diet to prepare me for surgery long down the road. Little baby steps here to prepare for the rest of my life! Loving life!
