What to See and Do in Tijuana, any suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I have decided 100% that Dr. Ortiz is the doctor for me! I can't WAIT to get this surgery behind me though. I'm a BIG CHICKEN, and the thought of surgery is S-C-A-R-Y. PLUS, I've never been on a plane!!!! Can you imagine that? And I'm terrified to fly!! SO, I'll be conquering many fears on this trip! LOL

Looks like the time spent there will be like a mini vacation with a surgery thrown in! Anybody got any advice on what to do while in the area?? Me and hubby don't drink, so bars are not something we would be interested in. Would love to see the ocean though. ANy nice beaches close? And how do you get around there, cabs?

Thanks for any replies, I know i have a LOT of questions! LOL

There is not a great amount of time to explore TJ during a banding trip, unless you have decided to spend extra days there after your surgery. TJ is not great on beaches, but San Diego and Ensenada (sp?) have great beaches.

Mrs. Ortiz is a great resource for ideas on what to do during your trip. I went shopping both the day before and day after surgery on Revolution Ave. Beyond that, preparing and recovering from the surgery took most of my time.

If you were going to be in San Diego a few days, I would have a different answer. TJ does not have a great deal of attractions except for sailors perhaps, but a person could spend 2 weeks in SD and not see everything.

Here's a link to get you started... but the staff at the clinic, and Mrs. Ortiz are great resources as well! Mexico Online - Tijuana

If you like to bargain, Avenida Revolucion is the best time. Once a year, some of my girlfriends and I head down there for a shopping excursion. I always load up on blankets and pullovers for the kids. There's always a deal to be made!

My sister used to build houses in TJ with her church. When she found out I was going, she just wanted to come with me and "bargain", lol.
