pre op diet

I would like to know if Dr. Ortiz requires you to go on a two week liquied diet before you have your lap band done? other sites I have been on people have been talking about the two week diet they had to be on before surgery.

When I had my surgery over a year ago, I did NOT have a pre op diet because my BMI was below 50, it may have changed since then so ask that question to Sandy when you speak to her.

Nope, no pre op diet for me either. I do know that my band buddy who had her surgery the same day had a diet though. I think the diet was left up to her and the nutritionist but she had a goal to lose a certain amount before surgery, per doctors orders. I think it depends on case by case and what kind of health issues you already have.
