I was banded on 3/19 and have all the gas and stuff that I've read about here. I do have a question, Has anyone else seemed extremely tired ? Although I haven't I feel like laying down and taking a nap all the time. Any suggestions?

Hi, Linda~

I was banded on 3/16. I've also had some really tired times. Right now, in fact. I kinda "hit the wall" and knew it was time to just take a break. However, I have felt better and better every day. Considering you've been on liquids for a while (and continue to be) plus endured abdominal surgery less than a week ago, I think it's pretty normal to be tired! :-) The best suggestion I can give is to listen to your body, to the extent that you're able. I work for myself, so when I'm feeling a bit draggy, I can take a rest break. I know not everyone has that luxury. But, do the best you can to accomodate your body's needs.

Also, I was at a local support meeting last night. One "bander" (several months post-op) spoke about how much more energy she has had since she started taking a B vitamin complex. I hadn't started my "B's", but I did today! I'll take any extra OOOMPH that I can get! Are "B" vitamins on your post-op list?

Anyway, best wishes to you! Hope you're feeling "better than new" soon!

B vitamins are not on my post-op list but I may go get some. I'm a faithful multi-vitamin taker but the ones I have are too big for me to swallow so I got some children's chewable. My son told me go to the health food store. Thanks for the info.

Linda, have you called your doctor?

My doctor's post-op instructions very specifically said "if you feel lethargic, call us immediately". Don't know why, but that's what it said. I was tired when I went back to work, but in general I have more energy...except at the END of the day when I've worn myself out. I never felt tired enough to lay down all the time. I'd call if I were you...maybe they have suggestions.

I felt that way also.... You have to remember it has not even been a week since your surgery... I think I felt back to normal at about 10 days... Just give it a little time and make sure you are taking your liquid vitamins (I like Centrum)!

Good luck!
