KathyTravels
I had the lapband put in place a little over a year ago and I have really done great. I am down about 100 pounds and starting to take on new, fun activities. My husband and I want to get certified to dive. Is it OK to scuba dive with the lapband??? Are there any possible problems and/or issues that I need to be aware of?

Hi, I asked that exact question to a local lap band surgeon in AZ and he said as long as you stick to recreational diving only and do not go beyond 100 ft, you will not have any problems. That is good enough for me since I don't like going deeper than about 60 ft. Hope this helps Lisa
Kris_TX
I've been diving nearly 20 years and actually moved to Cancun about 6 months ago. I work in a dive shop and dive regularly...no worries!
KathyTravels
Thanks to both of you for your replies. I just had my first class yesterday and I would hate to have had to drop out. Kathy
