Alcohol pre-op

I briefly forgot all about my upcoming surgery and had a drink last night with just 3 days to go to surgery. Anyone have any idea why alcohol is prohibited for 2 weeks prior to surgery and have I messed up big time?

I briefly forgot all about my upcoming surgery and had a drink last night with just 3 days to go to surgery. Anyone have any idea why alcohol is prohibited for 2 weeks prior to surgery and have I messed up big time?

I had a wine 4 days before hand. It was my anniversary, what can I say. I wouldn't suggest it the night before surgery, since nausea could come into play after surgery.
