Way to go, Angela !!!! By the way, starting Monday we can do AB work !!!

I have not missed a day since about the 22nd of June --- I am doing "The

Firm" series -- which has been very succesful in the past for me -- when they

say you WILL see results in 10 workouts, they're right ! My butt has lifted about

3 inches ! I'm much tighter all around, and since Monday is Angela & mine 3 month

band anniversary, I get to DO the ABs instead of fast forwarding thru them!

I am finally at the stage where I feel so good exercising I'm very protective of it !

I don't care if I have to get up at 4am (I've had to do that twice!), I DO it every day!

I am also on a team at work (one team of 5 - there are 53 teams altogether!) that are

on a 14-week challenge to lose weight -- so that keeps me motivated, too!

I think, rightfully so, that a lot of the posts are centered around decision (do I get this

thing?), to particulars (does it hurt ? when can I go back to work?) to fills (to TJ or not

to TJ??) and now we are at the exercise stage !!!! I swear I feel so good I'm petrified

to stop !! That took several weeks, but I'm so grateful I'm over that hump !!

Have a great, happy, healthy, vigorous summer, everyone !!!!!!!

I had a couple of questions. I'm not having my band until 7/30/07, but I want to go ahead and exercise during the pre-op diet because you're still losing then right? Anyway, has anyone used the trampoline for exercise? My daughter, who is a size 5, jumps on the trampoline daily. I'm wondering if it will hurt once the band is in place. Also, I keep forgetting to ask the doctor - I have a 14 month old who is about 22 lbs. How soon after my surgery will I be able to pick her up?

Thanks. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I had a question, how soon after surgery is it safe again to drink alcohol?

Excellent subject. When I got back from surgery, it was too hot to walk outside every day, so I headed to the gym to do a low intensity (2.5 mph, 0 incline) treadmill walk for 30 mins each day. There has to be a connection, because I had absolutely NO gas pain at any time following surgery. I felt terrible when I read about other patients who had back and shoulder pains, but absolutely could not relate.

As soon as my two weeks were up, and I was okay to exercise every day, I started increasing length and intensity. Now I'm up to 60 mins per day, keeping my heart rate at around 110 bpm and alternating between treadmill and elliptical (more treadmill, though).

I missed my workout today and I feel terribly guilty. Gotta get back on the horse again tomorrow! My goal is 60 mins of some aerobic exercise everyday, min 6 days per week, preferably 7.

I'm looking forward to adding 15 mins of weight resistance training on Monday.

I haven't ever tried Taebo, but the ads make it look like a really tough workout! I'm going to hold you to your promise. Did you do your full 45 mins today?

I I have not been banded as of yet but I do exercise now everyday and I also walk and it is hotter than blue blazes here in Texas. I used to drive to the park and then said heck with that. I live in the country and have just over 5 acres of land so well you guess it I walk my land and let me tell you it is hotter out here than in town. I do pilates, resistance bands, I ahve a treadmill and a easy glider by Tony Little and then I turn on the stereo and well dance my butt off. I drink the slimfast optima 2 times per day not really missing food anymore, I drink tons of water and it is hard for I have to learn to sip and time myself as to how long it take to drink a cup full. I keep my food and exercise diary too. I started my liquid diet a few weeks ago just to see if I could actually handle it and well it took getting used to but I am on my way. I have lost 15 pounds to date on my own. I have no sleep apnea and my liver is normal size. I wanted to wish all of us the very best in our new venture to a healthier slimmer lifestyle. Have a great weekend. Sharon

 How do you Guys do it? I'm on my feet ALL NIGHT at the hospital working my but off. (OK not all my BUTT off! LOL!) I bought a pedi also just to see how much I do walk at work!I'm looking at it and for an given night I walk close to 16000 to as of last night it was 18055 (if I knew I walked this much I should be a bean pole, right!). This is from the time I go to work (I put it on at the door of my house, take it off back at the door this morning!). After being on my feet at work, I can't think of working out during the day. Most days all I want to sleep is sleep. I bought an Xbox a few yrs. ago and bought the dance game to get me off my tushie and to get me moving, well that is still in the box it came in. I've lost 41 lbs. now. I know I have to get moving but to drained lately to move at all! Help! Anyone with any ideals can you throw them out there!

Sister you are on the cusp of weighing 1xx pounds !!! How exciting is that ????

The big buzz about 10,000 steps is that it is roughly equal to 5 miles. So you are

obviously doing that every day at work -- how about something completely different

on days off ? Do you swim ?? Thats great exercise and very refreshing. I do a video

tape in my living room every morning. Its THE FIRM, and it works for me.....I've done

it every day since June 22nd and havent missed one yet! {I'm one of those all or nothing

people - I wish I werent, but I'm unable to change that!}

Best of luck to you !!

BTW, I was miserable the first 2-3 weeks -- I was so tired I couldnt get out of bed == now

I feel so great after exercising I"m afraid NOT to do it ! It makes no sense = if you're too

tired to exercise, how can exercise make you not more tired ?? But its one of the mysteries

of life -- it really does make you feel so much better !!!

Keep up the great work !!!

Lisa

I am new to the website, not banded yet but on my way. Just in the begining stages and always very curious, therefore I often skim over comments of those who have had it. In the back of my mind the thought of sagging skin has been weighing heavily. One of the questions I wanted to pose was " exercise does that make the difference between a firmer weightloss or not?"

Well, I don't know what my problem was but, after surgery and after the reccommended time off, I really didn't get bakc to my exercise routine. I used to walk up this local hill that has trails all through it, its about a 4 mile walk in total at a steep incline. about the 4th week into surgery, I started having mood swings. I started walking the neighborhood, and the walk seemed to aleviate it. But it was only once or twice a week. This is my sixth post-op week,( the week i go for a fill!) and Last night went back to my hill. I cannot explain how good it felt to make it up the mountain with ease!!! I used to huff and puff! but I felt so good going up that hill. This hill is my best friend! this hill is my boyfirend, my confidant, my everything and I am going to have to invest my entirety to it. Sounds a little dramatic, but I am just going to have to believe it for now. Its necessary!

My report for the week....

Monday: 30 min. walk in the evening-- waited around the house all day for deliveries and workmen to show up. :(

Tuesday: 30 min. TM/45 min. weights/60 min. water aerobics

Wednesday: 30 min. TM/30 min. weights/chased grandson all day

Thursday: Cabinets installed! No visit to the treadmill or weights but I bustled around all day watching the workmen and oohing & aahing over the cabinetry. I really missed my water aerobics class though.

Friday: 45 min. walk in the evening -- another day of waiting for contractors to show up to do their part of the remodel. What a pain!

Today: Chasing grandson all day....planning on another 45 min. walk this evening.

Down 1 lb. this week! :)

Good news is that after next Thursday I shouldn't have to be waiting around for workmen or craftsmen to show up. Whew. My remodel is about done and now I can start the work of putting everything away. That'll be a workout in itself.

I think you should play queen of the hill several times a week!

Well, I took 2 days off. I had to travel for work and got to the hotel at midnight,

asleep by 2, up by 6, 12 hour meeting, 2 hour dinner meeting, then just slept in

this morning -- so I'll jump back into the exercise every day tomorrow. hoping the

break in all facets of schedule makes the scale MOVE!

How is everyone else doing ??
