Cost type stuffs...

Recommended Posts

Ok...so. I have been over weight/obese since I was five year old... I am finaly tired of being over weight. I have a job and I do realise that it will take time to accumulate the money... But what other type of stuff(and how much) isn't included with the cost... like cab rides and random things like that? and do you have to get your own airplane ticket? Any help or answers will be greatfully accepted!

...and what if you bring a friend...what happens with that?

JUST AIRFARE AND MAYBE A MEAL. THEY HAVE PEOPLE THAT WILL PICK YOU UP AT THE AIRPORT AND GET YOU BACK IN TIME FOR YOUR FLIGHT HOME. I TOOK MONEY ALONG FOR TIPPING. IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND/HUBBY COME, THEY JUST STAY IN YOUR HOTEL ROOM THE WHOLE TIME. EVEN THE NIGHT YOU STAY OVER AT THE OCC AFTER SURGERY

Be sure to bring a little extra incase there are more than three people traveling from the hotel to the clinic and the clinic back to the hotel. Mrs. ortiz drives you to and from and you may have to take a cab if there is no room in her car.

Is there not a surgeron in your area instead of traveling out of the country? That would be worth a lot to me to know that my doctor is close by.

Since this forum is set up by Dr Ortiz's clinic in Tijuana, most of the posters here have gone out of the country. There are several benefits to going to Dr Ortiz including expertise and cost. Since he is so well known among lap-band surgeons there are many US clinics who will see and treat his patients should local follow-ups be necessary. He also makes his cell number available to patients so we can speak to him whenever we have any questions or concerns.

I did not realize this forum was set up by him. That's good to know...Thank you

Of course, don't take my earlier statement as an admonishment or otherwise indicating you should go someplace else. We're happy to hear from and talk to anyone about banding issues regardless of who their doctor is. I just wanted you to understand why someone would ask us about what to bring for their surgery in Mexico.
