Yes, it is my understanding that Dr. Ortiz stitches it in place ... supposed to lessen the chances of slippage. I'd ask them directly though, just to be sure. LoriBecky Posted July 18, 2007 Report Share Posted July 18, 2007 yes... there are stitches that hold the band in place... the doctor stitches part of the stomach below the band and part of the stomach above the band... making a "belt loop" for the band to help hold it in place.
