JennaR
Its because of all the liquids if you were just banded. I didn't have a bowel movement for about a week and 1/2 and called the doctor. He said it was totally normal. He was right, once creamies were introduced, there it was! Cubankitten9
Actually I was banded in September, the sluggishness has only been in the last 2 months or so...someone on another board told me to try colace and iron... I guess I will try a few different things and see what works. Kyle
JennaR
Ohhhhhhhhh...... well darn, then I have a whole different set of suggestions. First off, iron is a natural constipator I believe so you may want to leave that alone! Also stay away from Bananas. Colace is a laxative so you don't want to go that route if you are just wanting to encourage a bowel movement. You may end up with diarhea. And you should check with the doctor before attempting a laxative. Choose foods that are naturally high in fiber to promote good bowel health. Also try apples, apples, apples. Also drink lots of water. Some band friendly suggestions..... Fruits: berries such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries oranges, apples and pear Vegetables: broccoli, spinach, swiss chard and green peas dried peas and beans such as kidney beans, lima beans, black-eyed beans, chick peas and lentils flaxseed (grind them and mix them into any food, mashed potatos are best)
Cubankitten9
Jenna thanks so much...I misunderstood the info I got from the other board about iron,so I know to stay away from that, and since colase involves a tube (LOL) Im staying away from that too! I will try the extra fiber to see if it makes a difference... thanks for the specifics on the fruits and veggies... Kyle
