Need encouragement

Hello! I was banded in 2003. For the first two years everything was wonderful- lost about 100lbs total. However, started having problems with night time choking and vomiting about 1 year ago. Finally had all the fill taken out- nothing else worked. I still have a little restriction, but have gained all but 25lbs back. Also, have had an EGD and found that as a result of prolonged too tight band, part of my esophagus closest to stomach is virtually paralyzed- this causes VERY slow emptying, which is what caused night time issues.

I WANT my band to work, but am soooo discouraged- not to mention self-esteem is at an all time low! Has anyone else had similar experience and does this resolve?
