Remember the show she did on people who just switched their food addiction to drugs or alcohol? I hope OCC knows what they are getting into. While I like Lady O, I sometimes worry about the influence she has on people...she has lots of power and if she does a negative piece on OCC and banding, it could really backfire. As for me -- I am very pleased with my experience and although I haven't lost as much as I'd like to, I am still plugging away at it. They just recently aired the show again about gastric bypass, and how it only deflected the addiction to food, to other WORSE addictions. And said that weightloss surgery was the easy way out. I sincerely hope that she is not pulling a dirty trick out of the bag!! Who knows? Also isn't Cassie the young girl who had lap band surgery? I'm also concerned that she may be picking on MX for doing surgeries on younger people. I'm trying to be optimistic. I hopes she proves me wrong, but I really have a bad feeling about this! Whatever her intentions are...maybe when she see's the OCC in operation, just MAYBE she herself will decide to have lap band surgery there! Wouldn't THAT be an advertisement???? Maybe she'll consider it, herself. Anyhoo, I've scheduled my band for Feb 15th - and I suspect they might get really busy from the Oprah press. I think most people discount Mexico for things such as this - I did until I did the research - but I think that some might start to discover that this is a great place to have it done. I was told that there will be other children on the show who have lost weight in thier own comfortable way. One child who is 17 years old just got Gastric Bypass a few weeks ago, another child lost it on his own , and I know there will be Cassie. They started our interview off with filming me taking Cassie to TJ. The main question is why? I explained everything to them. The Producer assured me that they will not be taking any sides that they are only sharing what is out there. I hope this calms your fears. We do not know when the show will air. I think she'll be opened minded... maybe she'll consider the band for herself. I mean if someone that can hire a personal trainer and personal chef can't keep the weight off... who better to understand the need for a permanent solution? AND I am happy that you are an "the idol" for all teens & young bandsters out there! You have no idea what that will mean to us all to show everyone what a wonderful thing this is & what a great place OCC is!! I felt at ease when I met the others that were waiting to have theirs done...& even more at ease when I met all of his friendly staff. Thanks so much OCC Cassie Wow, this is REALLY exciting! I can't wait to see the show! I've been watching Oprah since I was a chubby 12 year old latch-key-kid and have watched her weight go up and down for the past 20 some odd years. She has inspired me many times to lose weight but unfortunately like her (and so many others), my weight has yo-yo'd as well. I respect Oprah and I had a wonderful experience at OCC and I really think (and hope) she will do it justice. We know Cassie is a success story, so it would be tough to argue with that! Cassie is doing great. She found a fabulous outfit to wear. She is really excited. Today I found my outfit and finally got a babysitter to stay with her 4 siblings. They are sad that they can't go to the taping. And for all you Bandsters and future bandsters, when Cassie and I get to the Omni Hotel we are going to jump up and down on the beds screaming, GO OCC BANDSTERS !!!!! I can't wait to watch the show! Oprahs Producers did a web search and found the OCC and her picture. They sent her an email through her My Space acct. Left there number. We called thinking it was unreal. But it wasn't. They flew Cassie and I out to San Diego. They first started filming with me and what brought a mom to Mexico. We got into to Mexico, I wrapped up and then Cassie took it from there with Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Martinez and Staff. Then we both wrapped up together for the ending in TJ> Now we fly Wed. to Chicago and interview with Oprah on Thrusday. There will be two other teens on the stage as well.
