PREGNANCY AFTER LAPBAND TESTIMONIALS NEEDED

HELLO EVERYONE. I KNOW LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONE THE LAPBAND SYSTEM ARE RELATIVELY YOUNG AND MANY HAVE NEVER HAD CHILDREN PRIOR TO SURGERY. I WAS WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU LADIES HAVE HAD CHILDREN AFTER THE LAP BAND SYSTEM. CAN YOU PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE? THANX

Hi there. I am 25 weeks pregnant with my 1st child, and I had the LapBand in June 2007 by Dr. Ortiz. Everything has been great! I know that according to some things I've read you should wait at least a year, but we didn't and it has been fine. I weighed in at 215 lbs prior to surgery, and I lost about 20 lbs before getting pregnant. Since I've been pregnant I have lost 6 more lbs and gained back 2. My OBGYN says that I am the picture of perfect health as far as the pregnancy is concerned, and that I am right on track. Honestly, I was a little worried at first because it was so soon after surgery, but I called Dr. Ortiz and he said I should be fine. The doctor here that did my first and only fill would have taken it out, but it was only 1cc and Dr. Ortiz said I shouldn't have to worry about it. I can still eat plenty of food, and I am getting all the nutrients I need. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
