God4me Posted March 1, 2008 Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 Hello Las Vegas!!!!!!! Well, like many of you, I was banded by Dr, Ortiz and now have become and outcast for going to Mexico! Now what is so funny about it all, is Dr, Ortiz proctored the doctors here in Las Vegas that do the band. They charge $15,000 and my band was half the price. What's even funnier , while they are frowing at us for going to Mexico, ........is that Dr. Ortiz lives in San Diego, CA!!!!!!!!!!! and is one of the best in the industry. 6-8 bands a day over 5,000 bands performed!!!! After being told that I could not attend a support group at one of the local weight loss doctors....because "I was banded in Mexico".......I started laughing...No problem...... I will start my own support group!!! THE NEW LAS VEGAS BANDSTER SUPPORT GROUP FOR BANDSTERS BANDED IN MEXICO, will start in March and will meet once a week, Thursdays or Saturday! Our support group will focus on us and our new bands. Our new way of eating and last but not least helping other raise their monies to be banded in Mexico and the support that goes with it! All Las Vegas bandsters please reply........ and post your interest! I would like to encourage the rest of you to start a support group to meet the needs of Mexico bandsters in your area! I have been reading the blogs on this site for almost two years but this is the first time I have ever posted. It is great to hear from someone here in Las Vegas. Going to Dr. Ortiz was the best decision I have ever made. I have been banded just over a year now and I have lost almost 40 pounds. It has been a lot of work to lose the weight especially lately. My boyfriend is the only person who knows that I have been banded so I do not have a strong support network.
