Allergic reaction??

I am three weeks post op and have developed a rash on my chest in the past 4-5 days and I can't figure out what it could be from. Haven't change shampoo, detergent or anything else. I read somewhere that others have had this reaction to the betadine used at the time of surgery but it developed shortly after, like 2-3 days post op. Other than it itching, I feel good..don't feel sick or have any pain elsewhere. I will be contacting my doctor just thought maybe someone else has experienced something similar.

I'm glad that you shared your story. I had a similar story, I broke out in a rash on both sides of my abdomen. This was exactly 2 weeks post-op. I am a nurse practitioner so I don't think it could be related to the surgery but I too could not find a reason for the rash. Maybe it was too may liquids Ha! Ha! I took some benadryl and applied hydrocortisone cream and it went away.

I had the same thing around the incision sites, however I suffer with ezcema and put the rash down to that. I put mild hydrocortisone cream on it and it went away after a few days.
