scared
hey... yes I survived... I was the one laid up in the corner room. Well, first I must say that I'm a punk for pain...so then next day I was not up and around like everyone else.. I had serious pain in my chest, like a giant gas bubble ....ohhhhh it hurted... I took gas x, i took phazyme, and even took the pain meds.. i tried walking in the heat... which i think made me pbd right on revolucion ave... but it just wouldnt go away. But I was trying to deal with it so I kept walking in the heat.. I dont think that was a wise decision because i think i mightve been dehydrated... Finally on sunday... I felt a little better... it would come and go but nothing like the day before oh yeah and I had shoulder pain. I had a 5hr flight home... i was miserable but i tried to sleep most of it.. here I am on my 3rd day... right??? i kinda lost track of time... I was have a dream that i ate a chicken sandwich..and my chest started hurting... low and behold it woke me up and my chest was hurting again... i havent taken anything today.. I'm just trying my best to get along with out it... so that's my update... how are u doing?

Well keep me updated on your progress.

I am doing good so far have had some gas pain it is not as bad as the first couple days (atleast now i can sleep the whole night!!) I have pretty much been living off of broth, water, and popsicles. I am trying the yogurt drinks today kinda scared but im sure it will be allright!! I have not really been hungry just kinda drinking to stay hydrated ya know? Well im hoping that since we all did not get too meet the day of surgery that maybe hopefully we should meet on our first fill day!!!!! Hope all is well!! LoraLW
I was thinking that it would be cool if we all went the same time to get our fill and stay for an extra night to talk and hang out.
The Redhead
Hi everyone. I was banded on April 10th. I'm not sure where in the surgery line-up I was, because WOW, whatever they give you really knocked me for a loop!! I don't remember much from that night but I called my daughter at home and she told me I really sounded 'out of it'. ...that's putting it mildly. I had a huge weight gain from surgery date to my arrival home. But it's water retention and the flight back to Canada probably didn't help either. When I took off my pants that night I thought my legs had been replaced by tree trunks. No shape! I'm doing better each day and I'll feel WAY better if this damn shoulder pain would quit. AHHHH... life will be so much better once we get through post-op diet hell. Living the dream.... Denise
4mygirls
Hi all! I am doing pretty good myself. At the moment I have some shoulder pain but for the most part been pretty good. I am down 7lbs on my scale from before I left to go to Mexico. That is even with the "last supper" calories that I had a few days before surgery. I am making dinner for my kids and my stomach is really rumbling. I had some yogurt and protein water today felt pretty satisfied. When I picked my girls up from my parents house they had hamburgers with all the fixin's, FF and homemade onion rings. My mouth was watering but I told them I had just ate. I will survive!!! somehow. My stomach is still pretty swollen but going down everyday. I can't wait to start soups or something not as sweet!!! Looking forward to eating solids again. :lb20: Brook

LoraLW
Brook, hang in there...my daughter ate mexican food in front of me last night and then smiled and asked if I wanted some. Gotta love em!!! I have been real good on the post op diet, better than the pre op but it has been tough I am tired of sweet stuff and can't wait for something else. I haven't stepped on the scale since I was in Dr. Miranda's office, I'm scared...lmao The swelling goes down more each day as does the mild discomfort. Sara, I didn't get to say hello on friday..so HELLO!!! I hope you are healing and getting better daily. Has anyone heard from the Nicholesons?? They were banded before me and got to go back to the hotel that night but I haven't seen a post from them. Huge thanks to all the support from everyone!!!! :cheerleader:
mom12
If you are tired of sweet, don't forget the broth. When you can have creamy soups there are lots of savory things.

4mygirls
Good Job Lora! I showed my battle wounds to my 4 year old so that she would be a little more careful and she looked and looked and then she asked "what did you fall on mommy?" Then she offered to kiss them better for me. She is such a sweetie! Anyways, feeling good today. A little "weird" feeling in my belly after I took my liquid vitamins. Nastiness!! I am off to go look at your wounds. Are you putting anything on them yet? > Brook
crazycoolbutterfly
Hello everyone! I did begin a topic labled Banded April 10, but i think this topic started first?? anyway, it's good to see a few familiar faces. I was in room 5 closest to the nurses area. I must say that I'm sorry to hear about some of ya'lls bad pain or swelling right after surgery, but other than a little discomfort here or there (mainly near the port site), I have felt very good. I do keep it easy, nothing strainful. Afterwards, I went into San Diego and up north to hang out with friends and hit up the casinos. Had a lot of fun! I started the yogurt yesterday and did well. However, today, i feel like there is weight on my chest. I'm sure it will pass, but feels like i drank too much or something? I only had 3 oz of coffee with nondairy cream at about 8:30a and then a light danon 2 oz yogurt about 10:45a a few sips of water here and there, but nothing else. I'm not hungry at all, I just feel full. I walked around my back yard to ease the discomforting bubble and took some GasX, but still there. Maybe i need a nap ;-) I will weigh myself sometime this week and add a ticker at that time. >
