So I was banded on 4/4 - yeah!!

I lost 10 pounds the first week - yeah!!!

I lost 0 the second week....hmmm.

I read alot of your posts about making sure to get enough calories, etc. So I'm trying that - but I questionning it too because I'm not hungry. Honestly. I don't have any stomach rumbles, cramps, or pains like I got in the first week after pre-op.

I'm just wondering - are you eating when you're not hungry too...just to get in the right amount of calories?????

I had great success using protien shakes in the place of meals, I too was never really hungry so the shakes went down easy didn't make me retain water like salty soups did and they tasted great! I too went through a weight loss plateau because I was only getting 800 calories a day, but I was already drinking 5 shakes each day (160 cal each)... so I started drinking just 3 shakes a day but adding 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (making it 360 cal each shake) that gave me about 1000 calories each day and that's when my weight loss started up again!

Michelle, what brand of shakes did you drink. I have Slim Fast and really don't like them. The peanut butter may help. Great idea.

Hey Michelle,

Is that the powdered PB or is it regular PB?

Thanks,

Denise

Wow - never thought of Peanut Butter. Creamy kind I assume...right?

Yes I was using creamy peanut butter, I ordered that powdered kind but it won't be here till the 22nd...

I make my shakes in the blender with ice to make sure the PB is really mixed in well as I said before in another post just the name PB implies that peanut butter would be a stuck food (lol) so I wouldn't suggest just eating by itself (and definitely NOT with bread)

Michelle,

When you get the powdered PB will you let me know if it actually made from peanuts. I am allergic to peanuts but love the taste of PB...just thought maybe I could use it....

i havent been hungry at all since I got my first fill, so I know where you are coming from...you since you were banded on 4/4 i dont think you are on solids just yet, but when you are make sure you are eating 3 small meals a day- hungry or not per dr. miranda! if you are still on liquids just try and drink 1000 calories a day- and lots of water!!! the weight will come off-for good!

I think you should listen to your body. Because I wasn't hungry either, so i thought I wasn't getting enough calories so I did a schedule for like 1/2 a day where i would eat 2-3 oz of shake or broth like every 3 hours, and I got a huge gassy pain in my chest. So I stopped the schedule and went back to eating only when I was hungry. I do however drink, drink and drink alot of water. That may also be the reason why I don't feel so hungry. Now that its been 10 days, i do get a little rumble in my tummy to remind me that i am hungry because honestly i forget to eat. I make food for the family to eat and i just drink water. I would think just listen to your body and try to eat lots of protien first, then the salty soups. :lb24: on losing 25 pounds so far!

Yes it is made from peanuts, here's what it says about the product on their website:

Through a unique process created by Bell Plantation that does not involve the use of any chemicals nor does it alter nature's balance in peanuts; over 75% of the fat is removed from the peanuts. Essentially, the oil is squeezed out of roasted peanuts and what remains is our famous powdered peanut butter.
